Hi folks, Busy day with Gabriel and Jonah so feeling a bit shattered. Carrying Gabriel is like lugging a bag of compost around, he does walk but he's still at the 'carry me nanna' stage and he's so cute I can't resist him.
@Pat E I've checked our soil and it's a fraction on the acidic side of neutral so most things grow OK.
@Punkdoc I think you've earned the right to do as you wish, take no notice of what other people think or say.
Hoping to get some gardening done tomorrow and will need to pick up some potting compost and seedlings germinating and growing at a rate of knots.
Hi Dove. We were a bit chilly this morning, but only slacks and cardigan needed so far. I think we might be in for an early autumn/winter this year. We did get 3 mm rain overnight.👏
Morning all/afties Pat. How are the fire ravaged areas recovering - or are they recovering at all? I haven't heard much on the news in the way of updates. Dreich here, and more heavy rain forecast for later, but I might get a little more turf lifted if it dries up a bit. Back grass has never recovered from various assaults by builders'feet and equipment, and then drought/waterlogging, so I'm 'reducing' it
@punkdoc, the hill snow has been coming and going everywhere this winter, even through the last two months, but when we get a good day, there's no finer view anywhere than of the western hills eh?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Good morning. Dull and grey here but dry tho we either had an early shower or heavy dew. OH says he's seen his first hoopoe of the year which seems very early to me.
I think I may be reduced to a deep clean today. May as well empty Possum's room and prep it for decorating and then carry on and clean everywhere else while we're on. Soil is still too wet for working/weeding/planting so it can have a few days to dry out and start warming up.
I trust all are well and being careful but carrying on with normal life as much as poss. Got to stay positive.

Dreich up here, but plenty to do in the greenhouse. Got a bloke coming up on Monday to discuss what they would want from me. Moira will be working from home, so she will join me and help to make a sensible decision. I only tend to hear what I want and I love to be involved and feel needed. Thanks for all your advice over the last few days, your help is much appreciated. You all seem a lot more sensible than me
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
We already knew that @punkdoc. Great that you have the chance to share your expertise but good idea to have Moira to help with any decisions so you commit only to what you can manage given your own health.
You're not the only man with funny hearing. Except in French company I speak to OH in English but he often seems to hear something completely different.
