Flower Club was interesting today. The theme was Eurovision and the demonstrator produced displays representing some of the winning countries and she played each song after completing the display. It included Ireland (Dana), Finland (Lordi - best forgotten!), Norway (Secret Garden), United Kingdom (Cliff Richard) and Sweden (Abba). As it is the Flower Club's 50th anniversary this year she produced a surprise display.

Those flower arrangements are very clever LB. You and I are not great fans of the art - but we both appreciate the skill and talent in their construction.

I’ve travelled home today - nice to be back on the sofa in front of the fire🙂

We found out the cause of the confusion with FIL yesterday. We have a rather unusual, very Yorkshire surname and there aren’t many of us around. FIL is on a ward of just 6 patients and one of the other patients has a very similar sounding name. When we were ringing for updates we sometimes got the information for FIL and sometimes for this other chap. You couldn’t make it up... Staff very apologetic and we’ll all be making sure we’re talking about the right person in future.

FIL is too frail to withstand a general anaesthetic so they won’t operate. Not sure where we go from here.

Topbird I do hope fil has an appetite and will feel stronger in time.  It must have taken a lot out of him and you don’t always get a rest in hospital, disturbed sleep, early wake ups.  I hope he can catch up on some restful sleep and feel more comfortable.  I hope you can both rest tonight.  LB I  do prefer flowers presented in their natural state but you do have to appreciate the skill that goes into making the arrangements.  I’m glad you’ve had a good day.  I felt quite floppy today and went back to bed this morning but I came down in the afternoon.  It has been quite sunny weather wise with the odd rain spell.

Evening all. T'Bird, what a confusing state of affairs and how worrying that your FIL is too frail for a general anaesthetic. As you say, the big question has to be 'What next?' There is nothing quite like being at home in your own familiar surroundings. Its like getting a hug from an old friend. Rosie, I do hope that you will be able to sleep tonight after your little rest this morning. This was the Lordi arrangement:

When I was a teenager I hated ABBA - mainly because my dad was a big fan! Now I’m an old fogie I really appreciate the clever and excellent harmonies and I seem to know all the words to all their hits. Must have learned them by osmosis.😁

TBird , sorry to hear how weak  your FIL is . You must all be very tired . Try to get some rest while you are at home . Give yourself a breather .

I can remember dancing at home to the old ABBA tracks and watching them on tv.  A mixture of upbeat tunes with some sad lyrics.  Very popular at the time.
