Hiya Chey. I was just thinking about you and wondering how Buxton was doing in this odd weather. I'm hoping that there is no freezing temperature for you tonight or that wet snow will make the pavements lethal.
Hazel, small people keep you young!

Yoo hoo T'bird. I hope that you have made it safely to the Hook of Holland for tomorrow's crossing (? have I got that right?). I'm sure that you will be keen to get home to see how your garden has fared through all this wind and rain.

Ruby, I heard hail last night whilst I was in bed but not had any today. This winter has been very strange so far. You may get some snow next.
p.s. T'Bird, did your rellies get away ok on their coach holiday?

Chive hope mom is ok? A fall can be very distressing can’t it? It’s lucky that your sister was with her. Chey I like snow that doesn’t stick, pretty when it falls but a terrible nuisance when it hangs around making everywhere slippery!
Well done with birds LB my feeders will all need topping up tomorrow.
House was fairly tidy when we got back just wiped a few surfaces and thrown out dead daffodils, I can’t believe son didn’t notice they were completely dead!
Had George here for a few hours he is a wriggler!
Looking forward to a good nights sleep in my own bed

Evening everyone. Sounds like you’ve all survived the storm - it seems to have been pretty horrendous. Glad Debs and LB made their journeys without mishap.

Chive - best wishes for your mum - parents are a worry aren’t they?

FIL slipped in the bath last week. Went to hospital for an X-Ray - fortunately nothing broken but he took about a foot of skin off. His skin is incredibly fragile and he bleeds like a stuck pig (disgusting expression!) because of medication. The last week has all been a bit traumatic with multiple dressing changes and he’ll probably have to visit a local GP or hospital while they’re away.

I’m assuming they’ve gone... Spoke to them last night and they hadn’t heard anything was cancelled. Don’t think I’d have fancied the ferry crossing today much. MIL’s b’day today so we’ll chat to them in a bit.

We’ve had a day making a little progress homewards moseying through the Mosel valley. Very pretty little towns and zillions of vineyards and wineries - think we will have to visit in the summer when we can use the bikes for some wine tasting days. It’s been a bit wild, wet and windy for travelling but at least the wind has calmed down now.

Tomorrow we have a 4-5 hr drive to the ferry terminal. Don’t have to be there until 9pm but we’ll probably try to get to a little parking spot we know (about a mile away) before the evening rush hour so we can have dinner and clear up with plenty of time to spare before boarding.

Time for a little snifter now methinks....😁

Glad to hear your Mum is ok Chive. I've shopped in the early hours and it is bliss! I wouldn't want to do it all the time though. I just went at 02:00 out of curiosity. Well you have to experience all these things don't you? When I did Jury Service you go through a selection process where we who were summoned were asked if we could commit to a long trial. One lady was excused because she was getting married. The trial I was involved with took 10 days. I was appointed Foreman of the Jury. It was an interesting experience under horrible circumstances.
T'Bird I hope that your MIL has had a good birthday and that her OH manages his dressings etc. whilst they are away.
