Morning Chive. My Bestie and I usually meet on a Thursday but oddly enough we will be meeting today at the flower club. Everyone here knows my views about cut flowers but my Bestie is a very keen flower arranger and decided that she would join this year so that is the plan for today. It will be nice to go and admire the artistry with a friend and now I do know a lot of the others through my last two years of being a member. This is the first meeting of the year.

    Hello - we're home!

Very bumpy crossing so didn't get too much sleep (also not helped by OH snoring like a warthog for the duration🤨) but we landed on time and disembarked very quickly - there weren't many passengers at all for this crossing.

Home by 8am, van emptied and aired and 2 washes done - only another 3 to go. Going to SM this afternoon, take some flowers to neighbour who's kept an eye on the house while we were away, then I might just light the fire and collapse in a heap.

Facetime call with MIL - FIL has had dressing changed - all ok - but we still haven't found her phone😬 Have tried to explain how to use 'Find My' so we'll see if that helps. It's probably in her car at the coach station. Apparently it was all a bit frantic on Monday morning as parts of Castleford were under water and there were diversions in place so they were late arriving for their coach. She might have accidentally pulled the phone out of her bag in her haste to find tickets etc.

Happy Birthday to Hazel's GD. I remember getting a new fangled cassette player / recorder from my parents for my 18th b'day. Goes to show how long ago that was! Went out for a family meal with local aunts, uncles and cousins - very much a prawn cocktail, rump steak and Black Forest gateau sort of affair😁

Enjoy the flower arranging LB. I don't really get it either but appreciate the talent and skill.

Debs - your son sounds to be making a marvellous recovery. Hope work goes ok.

Rubee and Rosie - enjoy snuggling with your cats. I still need to find somebody to play Rummikub. I'm sure it can become quite a tactical game when you get good at it. Maybe I'll have to settle for learning to play Mahjong instead - there seem to be a few local groups for that.

Hope the boys (Ante & Chey) are doing ok.

Right - need to get on with the next job - lunch.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Chive I slept swell thank you.  I read my book until my eyes are getting heavy.  I’ll have to look in the freezer and see what to make for tea.  Hope you’ve all had a good day.

Afties all. Gosh Hazel, thats a good innings for your Mum! Hope your GD enjoyed the exploding card. Welcome home T'Bird. You deserve a 'feet up, G&T time' tonight after that disrupted night and your Lily's TV action.
It was very cold in the village hall today. They've just had underfloor heating put in but it was only Day1 today and I'm afraid it was actually warmer outside than in. I felt sorry for the demonstrator as someone had misplaced the microphone and associated speakers so she had to speak quite loudly.Clever artistry. She had made one display out of a beautiful piece of old oak with a screen knitted in string, for which she had used two broom handles - or steles as they are known round here - sharpened to a rough point. I have to say that it looked very impressive. The screen had drinks cans (the slim ones) covered in beige wool, randomly attached to it into which she placed her posies. How do they come up with these ideas I wonder?

Hazel, he was having a laugh at that quote! Have you got more people coming to give you quotes? I'd contact the card company and ask for my money back.
