It’s very sad about cf,as with youDebs I saw her on Strictly. Good look. Topbird with your protestations hopefully they’ll change their mind if that’s possible. Debs enjoy your relaxing evening. Im watching Endeavour now so goodnight to everyone.
Phone call about 2hrs ago. Father in law has fallen again. This time it was an ambulance job. When he got to hospital he was found to have (quite a lot of) blood in his lungs so they’ve been draining that. We were waiting to see if we both needed to dash up there but we’ve decided OH should go this evening so he can look after his mum and run her around.
He’ll ring me later when he’s got more info so we can decide if I need to get up there urgently. If not, I’ll probably go tomorrow or later in the week. Depends how bad it is. One problem is that they won’t do anything beyond basic emergency care until the cardiologist has seen him - & that won’t happen until tomorrow.
Suspect we’ll all have rather disturbed nights...

Oh T'Bird, I am so sorry to hear that. It must be a huge worry for you and your OH. As your FIL is in hospital then he will at least be getting specialist nursing care until the cardio person can see him tomorrow. I know it will be difficult but try to stay positive and I do hope that you manage to get some rest. Thinking about you.x

Rosie, I watched Endeavour too. No spoilers in case anyone else wants to watch at another time but it is getting interesting. Signing out for today. Fingers crossed for nice weather tomorrow as I really would like to get my obelisk put up. The clematis buds are showing well now. I hope the poorly peeps are carrying on carrying on!
P.S. Line of Duty is back later on this year. Yay!

I’m away to bed in a minute. They were considering transferring FIL from York to Hull tonight for a chest op but decided against it so he’s staying put. We’ll see what the morning brings.
Night everyone. Thank you so much for your kind thoughts & support.

Topbird I’m sorry to hear about fil and do hope things improve. It must have been quite a shock for him and hope his lungs will soon be cleared. Hoping you both don’t get overly tired and get some sleep eventually. Night night everyone.
Good morning everyone. Having a cup of tea with Alfie he’s sprawled in a chair. It’s quiet calm and still. Topbird hoping your fil has been able to sleep and has had his lungs cleared. Hope you’ve both slept too. Chive and Debs have a good journey this morning. I think I’ll have an early breakfast. Ante hope you’re feeling better. LB I hope you and Lily had a cosy night. I contacted a friend and she was messaging me from Portugal having a lovely holiday with her oh. She won’t want to come back to storm Dennis. Anyway I must get some breakfast.
Good morning Rosie and all to follow. Just waiting for a bus, dry at least but wind is icy. It’s light though so a welcome sign of spring on the way I hate those days when I go to and from work in the dark!
Topbird thinking of you and hoping for good news about FIL. Have a good Monday everyone and stay warm.
The high winds last night have dried up all the surface water outside my house so it seemed very uncanny to see, or not to see, any sign of yesterday's hail and rain and flooded front garden. There have been some dreadful pictures on the news. Seeing the views of the River Ouse reminded me of holidays in York where one of our favourite watering holes was The Kings Arms, right on the riverside. It was a fascinating place with lots of 'height' markings for various flood levels down the years shown on the walls. All the electrical sockets and switches were situated right up near the ceilings. It is a lovely place:
You can see the door on the left side but I read that it has been closed since April, whilst a new manager is being sort. It would be a real shame if this was to stay closed - it is such an historic building.
