As a kid, I used to like watching the wrestling on Saturday afternoon tv.
Mick Mcmanus, Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks, Honey boy Zimba.  Tag teams were good. It kind of spoiled it when someone said it was all choreographed from the start.

It's precisely the showmanship that I don't like.  In horse racing it's the owners and bookies who make the money, not the stable hand who care for the horses and groom them.

  • Thank you!
I am pretty positive usually but this weather really is so boring, even my dog doesn't want to go out in it. We went for a beach walk yesterday which usually perks us up but we were both happy to cut it short and get back home.
The primroses and daffodils are flowering on the banks and hedgerows which are lovely so Spring is on the way. There are new shoots on the trees and shrubs so the sap is rising.
We have been very lucky down here, plenty of weather but no major problems, I feel so sorry for the folk who have been flooded etc. with  more rain on the way. Horrendous.

T'other half has been tentatively offered a two week job in Fiji in October. It means transitting through Singapore, (27 hours straight through) and we were going to wrap a holiday around it. Not sure about it at the moment. Cornwall looks inviting.

Hopefully the problem will be over by then.  If not could they travel West via the USA instead of East.  Possibly a longer flight, but avoids the areas currently worst affected.

@fidgetbones ... watch that space indeed 😲 ... did you know that Tyson Fury was born nearly 3 months early and weighed in at a little over 1lb ... now at 6’9” and 20 stone he’s heavyweight champion of the world ... again ... his is a remarkable story ............ and I loathe boxing.

I don't watch boxing but still couldn't stand Tyson Fury until I saw the documentary where he opened up about the mental health problems he had experienced.  Admitting to any kind of weakness for somebody the from traveller community is a huge step, and he has my admiration for doing that.
  • 🤣 a few owners make a bit of money which goes to pay the trainer and stable costs, the lads and lasses wages so they have jobs. Very few owners make a profit ... it’s a hobby for the already rich folk which costs them a lot of money  ... Bookies are a different matter of course 🙄  💴

Anyway ... even on this wet and windy Sunday spring is appearing

I've just been outside doing a few jobs in a t-shirt with the warm sun on my back. The wind is a bit cool but it was really lovely out there. Last night though we had a sudden gust of wind that shook the house hard enough that I felt the bed move. It ripped felt off the neighbours summer house and dislodged things in the garden that had stood up to the last two storms. 4 bricks were thrown off my cold frame lid but the remaining one held it in place. If in doubt always add one more brick...
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

He's also given vast amounts of his winnings to charities for the homeless, mental health etc.
