  • That I am safe home and recovering nicely from my sudden outing.... That I need not go anywhere today, just rest and knit and eat. That my cats are all sturdy and sated. That the sea never overflows so no floods here. What is not to be cheerful about...

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Thanks @Dovefromabove, the prosecco's in the fridge waiting for tonight and I've got lots of gardening vouchers from family. I might indulge in armchair shopping as I would like some fancy plant supports. Torn between rusty iron stakes with ball finials or silver coloured ones (steel?) with leaves on top - decisions, decisions!

Gosh, that's a good haul @Allotment Boy. We're getting nowhere near that.

My RTBC today is that I accidentally dropped two hot Wedgewood bone china dinner plates getting them out of the warming drawer - and they bounced!

I knew bone china was strong but I was dead impressed. I think they were my £1 per plate seconds from the Wedgewood shop at Stoke many moons ago.

A mystery plant that's appeared in a pot in which something else had died is flowering, and in so doing, has identified itself as Erigeron glaucus, the sea daisy, which I've been trying to grow for years without success.  I shall plant it in the little rockery that surrounds my pond, as it's a dry sunny spot.

Maybe it has chosen where it wants to live.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

I ate my first-ever home-grown plum this week.  And the beetroots I transplanted are perking up.
