Just had three bags of peat free organic New Horizon compost delivered by a small hardware shop the other side of town - and they didn't charge for delivery. I've not used this before, is it any good?
It’s excellent stuff. I’ve been using both the general purpose and the vegetable specific one. Very happy with the stuff.

Hurrah!  You may remember that a section of our fence blew down over winter and had to be replaced. When showing OH all the things he and the fencers should be careful about, I forgot to mention Clem. Betty Corning and it seemed to have disappeared, roots and all ..... but no ... it’s still there and growing 😊

I received a parcel from my daughter today containing soft nougat!  My favourite.  She said she sent it because it is always nice to open parcels but reckons she sent it a week ago.  Well our post has been sparse to say the least.

So another reason for cheer - no junk mail for at least a fortnight  :)

It depends how far you're allowed to travel to them. The one we use is a good 8 miles away. I'm not sure how even with managing the numbers in and out, they could stop clumping.
I think I'll manage with what I've got this year.

Opening GCs does seem to fly in the face of 'essential travel only' but if they are open presumably the government is classing them as essential.  If not, the police are going to have an impossible job.

They have to start somewhere, we can't stay closed forever.  Thinking about my garden centre it would be quite easy to keep 2 metres apart.  There is a separate entrance and exit and if they marked it one way only it would be fine.  Obviously the cafe wont be open so I'll just have to wait for the wonderful cakes they serve.  Gardening is a great form of exercise so I think it's a good place to start.

I suppose that would work if you know what you want before you go there but I like to wander around aimlessly, reject something and change my mind, get an idea about something I want and go back to look for it,try something up against something else - that kind of thing. I'd be a social distancing nightmare!

My friends parents are both being released from hospital this afternoon after Covid-19. He's been and sorted out the house for them but , sadly, has to leave before they arrive home.
At least he knows he's helped them.
