Good morning. Brief break in the rain here at the mo so I've asked OH to go and hoe and weed the patch we prepared for garlic, in mid November, and which it's either been too wet or I haven't had time to plant.
The ditches around here are already full and I expect the marsh plains and their dykes nearer the coast are on full pumping out mode.

We’ve just been down to W’rose for ‘stuff’ and now we’re drinking coffee ☕️
The sun is shining but it’s still pretty squelchy out there ... hopefully this stiff breeze will dry things out a a bit.
I’ve just got an apple, fennel and celeriac slaw to make to go with free range pork chops and baked sweet potatoes for supper, and that’s the To Do list all ticked off 😇

HI @Chicky. It is most certainly full and the overflow pipe the farmers installed is dumping excess in Luc's yard. Must remember to try and find that and block it when the levels drop as I'd like it to get fuller if poss and raise our own soil moisture levels. We have frogs and toads a-plenty all thru summer and the swallows do lots of swooping for insects. We also have duckweed. Never mind, the frogs like it.

Thanks @Chicky. That's facing north west from our terrace at the back of the house. The area to the right is currently paddock and will stay that way. Luc came and cleared it of metre high weeds and bramble "nests" in autumn and will be putting a few young mums and their calves in there once the weather improves.
The area to the left of the pond between it and the ruins used to have a big old barn, 17m long by about 15m wide. It has a really nasty fibrous weed membrane covered with tiny grey gravel and loads of weeds now plus occasional concrete boots for an ex climbing frame. I'm thinking of covering a lot of it with a textured concrete terrace with a pergola/trellis frame all round for perfumed plants and then having a big seating/eating/dance area. However, first estimate is 4500€ just for the concrete - no labour and no framing.
Plan B coming up. The Wendy house, tree house and its tree and the climbing frame are long gone. Poplar still there.

Thanks @Pat E. That second pick was taken after Luc the farmer had been and cut all the grass with his tractor as it hadn't been mowed since the husband abandoned wife and kids and they needed pics for the estate agents. As there is no soil depth it rapidly goes dry and brown in late spring and all thru summer, hence the plans to cover and re-purpose it for our use. I shall leave some of the better bits full of the wildflowers that have moved in rather than attempt to have a lawn there.

Raining in SW France. So much to do outside.
May sort photos for my next album.
