The livery place lady was lovely and knowledgeable about horses. She rescues animals too and birds of prey. Had 6 dogs, from a tiny Yorkshire terrier to a large elegant greyhound and various rescue pigs. Her Arab horse is gorgeous. Her house was a tip and the barns in a mess but does that matter? I don't think so, the animals all looked happy and healthy. I liked her.

Sounds good for your two then @Busy-Lizzie.  A little holiday for them while you're way with OH and his hip and one less thing to worry about.

  • Sounds as if she’d rather be with the horses than doing the housework @Busy-Lizzie ... that’s about par for the course for all the stables I’ve ever known 😉
One house I remember had nearly as much straw in the house as in the looseboxes 😂 and snaffles, kimblewicks and curb chains went in the dishwasher more often than the coffee mugs ... absolutely true 👍

any sign of rain yet @Pat E ?

We have a sharp frost this morning ... the first for a while ... there’ll be the sound of the scraping of windscreens shortly ...

We have a big frost here too, -5°. Heating oil man has just been so heating will have to be off for a bit.

Morning Dove. No rain yet, but the barometer has moved up, so maybe a bit tomorrow.
Hubby has just walked in. He’s been out in the fire truck for 12 hours again. 🤬

  • Oh @Pat E ((hugs)) Glad he’s back. I expect he’d feel terrible if he wasn’t doing something useful 😕

Yes Dive. It’s a problem. He hates sitting around all day. He’s still not up to full strength after the chemo yet, but gets by.

An exciting day for me today - heading into London this evening for a talk by Monty and Piet Oudolf 😀😀😀.  The chicklets are astounded at the rock and roll life I lead 🎸  Very much looking forward to it.
