The view from the m/home door right now:

As you can see the snow is definitely settling here! Should stop this evening.
We’ve opted for a ‘private bathroom’ (one if those little sheds you can see). Really glad we did. Quick 2m sprint in dressing gown into a lovely toasty room with hot shower, loo, basin and electric points. No need to get dressed and trek through the snow to the big shower & loo block at the other end of the camp.
Went into Garmische and Partenkirchen yesterday. Bit bigger than expected and plenty of ‘normal’ shops (not just ones selling ski wear and other outdoor stuff). It was cold and wet because it was snowing quite hard but I’ll probably go back tomorrow or Friday when it will still be cold but (hopefully) sunny and less windy.

safe.Good idea to have a private bathroom, sounds lovely and warm .It looks as though there is plenty more snow to come by the look of the sky .

Oh wow, T'Bird. I have got snow envy!. I was so fed up with being confined to barracks that I went out into my back garden for a while. Temperature was bearable. I pruned my clematises (is that the correct plural?), filled the green bin and bird feeders. I found some of my lovely hellebores and snowdrops.

I think that was a very wise choice too, a private bathroom. I would want that too.

I've just had some great news from my brother in Oz. My sis-in-law, who had an adrenalectomy to remove a tumour last December has been given the all clear today. A big weight off all our minds.

Excellent news about your SIL LB - you must be very relieved.

Lovely hellebore and snowdrops. Noticed last week that mine were in full bud but not yet open.

Hope the fact you’ve been outside means you’re feeling a little better?

LB very good news about sil.  Topbird it sounds like a fun holiday and great to have a private bathroom.  I can picture you both dashing through the snow in your dressing gowns.  I’ve been to the post office with dad.  He didn’t know but there’s a return post label with Cot*** Trad*** and they just deduct £2.95 from your refund.  Saves having to pay £20 for return postage of two pairs of heavy shoes.   Dad has difficulty getting shoes as he has very swollen feet but the shoes he chose were well cushioned just a shame really.  On the way back we called at the opticians and he had a screw replaced for his glasses and then popped in sm.  it’s good to get some fresh air.  Cleaned the litter tray and now having a cup of tea.
