For the second day I've waited for Dyno Rod to come checkout the drains as we've got.... stuff.... coming up into the garden.
I've been assured he's coming this evening , even though it's , as Hubby would say " as black as Newgate's knocker" out there.

  • @Pat E hope you get rain soon, we were getting fed up with it here, but rain has been swapped for ice, so as the old saying goes be careful what you wish for.
We went to Keats house in Hampstead today, I say his house it seems he never owned it but only rented a couple of rooms  but still very interesting. Then back up to OH's daughters for Sunday dinner it makes a nice change for them to cook for us.
My dear old dad would have been 100 today, makes you realise how fast time slips by.

We had a lovely day at the coast ... I’m exhausted now ... night night all 😴

WEL, it’s now 11 am on Monday, and there’s still no rain. Clouds and forecasts, but no wet stuff.

Funnily enough, Dyno Rod didn't come last night so we've had "stuff" flowing in the garden for 2 days now.
Now I seem to have my guts under control, my mouth is aching where I had the molar extracted 2 weeks ago. Methinks I'll be back to the dentist to have a look.

Hope you get some wet stuff soon @Pat E ......very frustrating.  Are the fires still burning round your way?  As always, things have dropped off our news here now that its calmed a little near the big cities.

Freezy cold here - off gardening today.  I have double socks, spare gloves (for when the first ones inevitably get wet) and thermal long johns 🤣

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
hope the gum settles soon and that Dynorod sort your problems out soon @Hostafan1 🦷
    Stay warm and dry  @chicky
I’m heading into the city for a U3A meeting ... I’ll have to catch the 9:30 bus so I’d better think about getting up and organising myself ...

we had a thunder storm pass through (2.5mm) and then it was gone. Our son rang to say that Canberra had been hit hard. He lost a sky light in the house and his car is all dented from hailstones.

Chicky, our fire is still there but the edges have been burned back so it’s fingers crossed that the stuff in the middle can burn itself out.  They are predicting high temps in a couple days, so we are expecting things to get bad again. We’ve still got the cars packed with our belongings that we don’t want to lose. 🤬
    hello all.

Gosh Pat, it still sounds dire, I was hoping you'd had rain by now. Keep safe, we're all thinking of you. Dented cars not a good look either! We've got heavy frost here this morning so I won't be going out until its gone.

    Morning all.
Hope you never need to make a getaway with those packed cars @Pat E By the way, I've looked for your jigsaws on the site you mentioned and once found some, did a couple before I'd signed in but I can't find them anymore.

Tree pruning man has come. He's cutting down one laurel, it has a huge trunk and it's leaves keep going yellow with green veins so it must be hungry or thirsty. Anyway, we don't like it, has made a dark gloomy corner of the garden. The other laurel next to it looks much healthier but it's far too big and bothering our neighbour as well so he's giving that one a severe prune.
