Good morning all and hello to @Pat E Ā š āļø Keep safe Pat ((hugs)) xx
The bush fires remind me of a book I was given as a Sunday School Prize when I was a girl ... it was full of tales of heroism by girls where they took huge risks to save others ... Grace Darling, Gladys Aylward, and the one who stuck in my mind ... a girl who was fleeing from a bush fire with her younger brother and as the fire caught up with them she laid him down between the railway tracks and covered him with her own body as the fire passed over them. I donāt remember what happened to her ... but I know she saved her brother ... I came from a farming family where boys were important and this story stuck in my mind.Ā

Things are more bearable when youāre together eh @Pat E Ā ... then you donāt have to wonder about whatās happening to them. and you have someone to share your thoughts with. ((Hugs))Ā

Looks awful @Pat E . Ā Feeling apprehensive about sending littlest chicklet back to it all .....but her plane goes on Thursday come what may.
Had a lovely Christmas here, but under the shadow of the rapidly deteriorating health of my Dad. Me and my sisters have spent a lot of time to-ing and fro-ing ......thatās going to be my life for a while. Ā Spent yesterday organising carers to come in four times a day - he really wants to stay at home. Ā However, think a hospice is inevitable fairly soon. Ā Have to take him from Southampton to Bristol for a 7am appointment on Thursday - last throw of the dice on a treatment option. Ā
So all a bit tricky. Ā Probs wonāt be around much for a while, so will wish you all a happy and healthy new year ..... found some forks for Forkers below which appropriately summed up my thoughts ......

I'm glad you're both together @Pat E. The whole thing is just too stressful to even contemplate you being apart.
