@punkdoc said he hoped to go away for Xmas so either he did and is having fun or he didn't manage it and is feeling very low.Ā  Ā Big hugs for him either way.

@Fairygirl disappears when politics raise their heads so hasn't been around since the election.Ā  Hope she's OK and will be back for the New Year.Ā  Hugs to her too.

@Hostafan1 - maybe you should invest in some insulation and check your oil levels weekly in cold weather.Ā  Given how hot you two like to be your consumption probably trebles in cold and/or wet weather.

  • @Hostafan1 ... maybe because you've both been at home (and in the house) more than usual since your Lovely Hub's op you could've used a bit more heating oil than usual?

Think @Fairygirl's ok ... I heard from her at Christmas ... ((hugs)) if she's looking in.Ā

And @punkdoc was hoping to get away over Christmas ... hope that went according to plan.Ā Ā

The trouble with out house is the shape. It's a cruciform shaped bungalow so it's spreads out . Our bedroom has 3 external walls.

I'm not blaming anyone but myself for running out, but I think it's ridiculous that none of the local oil companies can deliver before Jan 7th, 11 days after it being ordered.

I'd bet if I went online now I could have a supermarket delivery from Waitrose, Tesco , Sainsbury's and Asda within a day or two at most. They, and DPD seem able to cope with customer demand 7 days a week but not oil suppliersĀ  who, it seems, are content to work Mon -Fri 9-5 and don't give a toss how inconvenient that is to their customers.

Gosh, that’s a lot of oil Hosta, a tank full every 2 months.
Even in a cold winter we only use a tank full ever 3 to 4 months and thats with it on constantly in half of the bungalow with 3 bedrooms, and off for a short while in the other half with 2.Ā

Very warm everywhere today, nice, still, mild gardening day, got some big shrubs to pick axe out.Ā

    Bed time here.Ā
We have fires just over the hill and people have been working on them for two days. Hubby has agreed to take one of the fire trucks out tomorrow - I’m mad as hell, but what do I know, he ā€œsaysā€ he’ll only be driving, not dragging fire hoses around, but he is in for a blast when he gets home if he is exhausted. 🤬🤬 stubborn so and so.Ā

Interesting that they had Michael Hutchence Show om when they are making a big fuss about Kylie, given their history. šŸ˜

    night all.

    Night night Pat.Ā
I hope @punkdoc saw it as I know he's a fan of Kylie's bottom. ( some home video of her in a somewhat undressed state )

@Hostafan1 - oil delivery companies have a limited number of oil tankers and qualifiedĀ  drivers working on rostas.Ā  Ā No way they can be as flexible as an SM.Ā  Ā Have a look at adding an extra layer of insulation in your attic at least.

@Hostafan1, I suppose your oil couldn't have been stolen?Ā  Apparently there has been a big increase in oil theft in rural areas lately.

We had a spate of oil thefts round here a couple of years ago, plus a neighbour dispute that led to sabotageĀ :/Ā  Nice heap of logs thoughĀ B)Ā

I've watched 4 music related films over the last few weeks; Bohemian Rhapsody, Blinded by the Light, Yesterday and Rocketman. Think I liked Yesterday the best of them - more humour than the others, possibly because the Beatles had no involvement in the production of it. Or possibly because the Beatles have/had more humour than Queen, Elton John or Springsteen.

It doesn't help when their fleet of vehicles is parked up for 2 days every week.Ā
Over 300mm of insulation up there already , maybe I just like to be warmer than can reasonably be expected.
