@raisingirl , re your sofa covers, I had to do that back in the 1970's when we were short of money. Easiest way is to take off the old covers, just cut them off as carefully as possible, iron them flat, lay them out on paper (brown paper or old wallpaper) to make paper patterns, adding about 1 " all round for the seams, then stitch them together as needed. So arms are separate pieces, as is the back, then the cushions, if that makes sense? You can always hand stitch them if needed onto the actual sofa.
I expect @Obelixx would also have some good advice.
The other way to do it would be to use old sheets or similar cotton, cut out rough dimensions of each piece and pin onto the sofa to make patterns that way.
@Hostafan1, I'm not at all sure what is happening but gather it involves a hospital visit today so best wishes anyway. Sounds like my OH will need a hospital visit himself soon.

@raisingirl I hope your BT issues are now resolved.
I've never done covers that fit on a standard sofa but I have done new covers for cane sofas which is a similar process but easier. This model had 3 separate cushions per sofa plus one long shaped one that went along the back and bent round to the sides. I am tho, coming round to the idea of making new covers for these two more tarditional sofas which are beginning to look a bit sad and are the wrong colour too but are otherwise good for years yet. PM me if you want some guidance but I expect you know how to go about it or can work it out.
I have just wasted most of the afternoon in queues. PO to post a parcel for Possum. Couple in front wanting chappy to track a parcel they had posted on 23/10, hadn't checked it had arrived and hadn't used their tracking number to follow it themslelves tho they have internet and got shirty when it was suggested they should. Lively discussion, intervention from colleague and finally he checked their number and it had been signed for on 24/10.
Thence to builders' merchant to get ready mixed grout for a mosaic project I need to finish PDQ and they don't have it but while I was there I had the bright idea of asking for a list of dimensions and proces for rusty grids and columns to build my fruit cage and hen run. Had to explain that carefully as he's not use dto such lateral thinking and all the time interrupted by plasterers, leccymen, plumbers, roofers with "real" questions and sales to ring up. That was at least entertaining.
Last queue at the little local SM because they're digging up the car park to "imrove" it and that has a knock on effect on how people are served, apparently.
I need cake.
@Lyn - maybe Ashley after Ashley (Diversity) Banjo as he is gorgeous too and clever with it.

Ziggy would suit him, he’s running around like a wild thing here, playing jumping about, you’d think he’d been here forever instead of just Sunday night. He’s already learning not to get on the work top, I’ve told him NO so many times now I just get up and he’s gone. Very quick to learn.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Our cat, upset by the house move, has forgotten she doesn't jump on worktops or the kitchen table... we're trying to give her lots of cuddles, but not let her develop bad habits. Your little Ziggy/Ashley promises to be a bundle of fun, @Lyn.
I've been attacking an enormous lonicera, around 12 feet tall. This is it in its Mohican phase, before I got out the step ladders... I want it gone, really, but will have to do it in stages for the sake of the wildlife - a wren was shouting at me as I worked, and I guess such a dense shrub must provide really good roosting/nesting sites.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
