Posting to try to get rid of the quote box that keeps following me about

I've got my kilt on @Hostafan1....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Good morning all and g'day to @Pat E  :)

Isn't it a 'big day' tomorrow @Hostafan1 ... have you got the day off?

I'm late on parade today ... my iphone seems to have got the hump 'cos I've got a new laptop ... it's just refusing to let me see the GW forum page ... it gets me to all the other bits, even my accounts settings etc ... but when I click on Forum I just get a blank page with a pale greenish grey background  :'(  If switching it off and on again doesn't work I shall have to see if the Mods have any suggestions on Monday.

We've got a beautiful morning here ... a very sharp frost and there was a gorgeous pinky blue sunrise ... now I've got the laundry on the go and have a stack of books and papers to sort and put in other places ready for me to sort them again another day ... then I'm going to put a bacon hock and marrowfat peas etc in the Crockpot for a hearty supper ... then I shall play on my new laptop  :D

@Dovefromabove, yes big day tomorrow, but I'm working my usual 12 hour shift. Hey ho.
    Devon.
  • You'll have to celebrate today and Monday  ;)

I think I might move some bark mulch today and laundry on Monday. Rock 'n' Roll here.

    Hi all

Have to admit I have only just surfaced, hadn't quite appreciated how much the last week had taken out of me.
Temperature down to minus 6 overnight, now very foggy, not enticing me to go out.
I am very much a foodie, one of my greatest pleasures is a good meal out, or trying something new at home.
Many happy returns for tomorrow, @Hostafan1

I love a good meal out too, just not interested in pretentious stuff like " foam " or " emulsions"  or "froth" are any such nonsense I've seen on foody programmes.

I'm doing my usual 12 hour shift tomorrow, but as I'm technically on holiday  , I'll ask if I can come home after my delivery rather than filling up the rest of the time in store.

    Morning all - chatty already.
Cold out but not minus. Just been out to sweep leaves from steps/drive ready for SM delivery person (some of us care Hosta).
I’ve done a ‘big shop’ mainly of household or heavy items (oh - maybe I’m not so considerate) so I can minimise shopping trips this month.
Re the food debate. I love food to be enjoyable as well as tasty. After years of shift work where toast and cereals feature heavily in the diet (and purely functional canteen food) then I appreciate something made with effort or thought - although that may well be just a good sandwich or roast dinner. No need for foams though.
    Have a good weekend all.
