    I woke at 1.11 am and it's now 3.48.
I hope the fires are under control and you and your Husband get some respite from it all, AND some rain.
    Devon.

I must admit that I’m a meat and 3 vegs sort of person, but Hubby loves watching those cooking shows and trying some of the recipes.  I think my absolute favourite is Italian after my basic boring stuff. 😃

I don’t like chilli, Hosta. That rules out Thai. 😬

    Rather you than me, Hosta.
How is Hubby going now? Mine is slowly getting his taste buds working again, and a bit of energy. He’s still on hormones.

Has your rain arrived @Pat E? You badly need it. It seems to just keep missing you.
Freezy frosty again here. Minus 6 just now.
I've forgotten to break the ice on all the wee watering places so I'll go and do that and get more tea.
I agree with you @Hostafan1 . Too much nonsense about food. I've been to fine dining restaurants etc, but they've always been 'appropriate'. It all gets a bit like London Fashion week though.
Hope you got back to sleep....

I'm not a foodie, but I've been to one or two 'name' restaurants - mostly ten or 15 years ago when I was in a position which required me to take clients out for posh meals in London. I had a few really good meals at Fergus Henderson's place - never fussy stuff. Gordon Ramsay's was definitely 'meh' - nothing special. Gennaro Contaldo's was really good - probably my favourite. Never got to the River Café although the sandwich lunches in Richard Roger's offices (next door) were really good.

Chilli is one of those things - like salt and sugar - the more you have the more you need to have to be able to taste it.

Quiet weekend here. NewDog tried to run up a barbed wire fence yesterday and is nursing a cut paw. The weather is indifferent and damp and cold. Think I'll try re-upholstering some of our dining chairs
