That’s great news @punkdoc - you had me worried there. Enjoy your wine.
Back from shopping. Couldn’t find anything I fancied to wear for the Crimbo ‘do’. Did buy a few stocking fillers for the neices though.

Hurrah!  @punkdoc - so very pleased ... we'll raise a glass of red to you and Moira with our pizza this evening (a long time spent in John Lewis waiting for new laptop set up to happen as t'internet was grinding exceeding slow means a Sainsbugs pizza is the best I can do).

Anyway, I'm on the sofa getting to grips with my new laptop ... you can see I've prioritised ... I'm on GW  B)

Son phoned me while I was waiting in JL telling me about today's London Bridge incident ... his work colleagues were/are affected by central London seemingly in lockdown quite understandably.  Thank heavens for heroes, whether they are our emergency services or brave members of the public.  I'm just so sorry for the folks who live and work around London Bridge and Borough Market ... they'll be reliving the horrors again ... horrendous.  I hope everyone at GW and all posters and loved ones are ok.

Quite horrific @Dovefromabove. The ordinary folk who tried to restrain him are the real heroes, I reckon. Piling in with no thought for their own lives. Incredible.
As you say - hope no one here, or their friends/relations are caught up and hurt in it. The usual billhooks will no doubt be trotted out by the mayor. You couldn't pay me to go there nowadays, but at least I have the choice, unlike all those who work there.

I've optimistically defrosted some chicken, but whether I can be bothered doing anything with it is anyone's guess....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Nothing good to say about terrorists and idiots.  Spoilt our day too.  Have been duly "pruned" at the hairdresser's, had lunch in teh sunshine on the front - galette sablaise which is a savoury buckwhea pancake cooked crispy and topped with very soft leeks and buttery brown scallops.   Yum.

Thence to grandson of the chap who built this house for home-made apple tart and a glass of sweet wine - lots of history of the house and its land plus the Vendée and OH got to try néfliers (medlars and same common name in French as in English) which he found he doesn't like.

Thence to Leclerc for our weekly shop and to have a peak at the new gallery of shops that's just opened and the whole shebang is closed because of a bomb scare received at 11:30.  Police and traffic jams in all directions.   Humph!  Can't imagine what's that done to their income.

Had to go to Super U at Jard-sur-Mer and the only good thing about that is that they stock riso venere and had people doing a collection of non-perihable foods and toiletries for the homeless and very poor.

I shall raise a glass to your news @punkdoc.  A toast to all Forkers too.

No, just not interested in food.  You don't cook and don't much seem to care what you eat.  Riso Venere, should you wonder, is lovely fat grains of black rice.   Very tasty.

It was a very good galette.  I might just have a go at making them myself and maybe even try the one Rick Stein showed with yeast in the batter.
