I have no idea what Steve’s on about but well done to him😀 Good band Dove, we had an internet friend who was always Marshall at the greenbelt. Site closed, well it went over to Facebook as the leader thought it was the way to go, it wasnt😢 so we all lost touch.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
@steveTu- yes, just as well! Good joke - close but no cigar.... I need a new pooter too @Dovefromabove, and I'm loathe. They no longer have the Photo Editor that I use and that annoys me too. It's so easy to use. Change would be very difficult!
Many older generation people don't like change but it comes to us all some day. Who would have thought you'd see people in their 80s on mobile phones years ago
@Fairygirl. Since I’ve had my iPad I would never go back to a PC, I took all of the photos of the laptop and into iPad, installed an office programme for business and now I’m thinking of asking for a whip round at Christmas and buy the new version, slightly bigger. Its so quick to type on, security is good, I’d never go back to a laptop now.

I got rid of my laptop last year as it was too slow and I bought a kindle. Everything I did on my laptop I can do on my kindle 😊😊
Mine's a laptop @Lyn, and it's served me well. The camera bit would be handy, but only in the garden. Daughter has an iPad and loves it. I used another photo editor for a while which was ok, but many of them are too complex for me. The Windows one is so good when I'm doing my hill photos, because it's quick. I take so many when I'm out, and it takes ages to resize them etc, so I need something quick and easy.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I think people get toooooo scared by computers. They're just tools. Microsoft got computing out to the general public - so that in itself was good. The only snag is that it ended up with MS operating systems (Operating System - OS - the main bit that gives the user that main interface into computing) being the defacto standard - and they were prone to issues ('...I suggest you turn the computer off and on...' after the blue screen of death was a phrase that every support team used). But there are other OSes - obviously Apple has its OS and most people are aware of the cut down OSes used on phones. What people are less aware about is that a major OS was always being used by the big boys behind the scenes. After the time in the early days when each computer manufacture had its own OS on its kit and also then developed proprietary peripheral hardware, the industry largely settled on two major base OSes Unix and Linux. Both were seen as big machine, multi-user environment OSes. BUT...but....both morphed into very good PC, laptop...blah OSes. Linux is now the more dominant - and unfortunately has a few variants. It is an excellent OS with an extensive tool set (for image processing, music, office automation, mail and task management...blah..blah)....well worth looking at if you have a computer vendor other than Currys nearby who can advise.
I once had the pleasure of an introduction to quantum computing by an expert team at the National Physical Laboratory. That gave me my own personal experience of quantum entanglement - I both completely understood it and was completely baffled at the same time.
I think it is now possible to get some control over Win10 updates. I'll have a look for some comprehensible instructions.
