Evening. Typing with left hand as Charlie (cat) has fallen asleep on my right arm 😻 Hope everyone doing ok. I see the C- word has been mentioned 🎄! I’ve been getting my humbug on by sorting the work rota for the festive fortnight - I hope they approve (the shifts have been shared with requests taken into account plus whether they worked it last year) but it’s a task fraught with peril and plenty of whinging (from both me and the team).
Morning all, wet few days here so projects in the garden on hold. Thank you for ideas/suggestions on gravelled area, all taken into consideration. Really would like to get my bulbs in though, I get so frustrated with lack of opportune times to do things. I have friends from the UK coming to stay all next week, 2 old friends of Charlie's, age 12 and 8, not seen them for 3 or 4 years and they are girls, I hope the dynamic still works.
Christmas plans started here too, Christmas fair and a big New Year's Eve event to organise. I did buy some Christmas cards at a Macmillan Coffee morning event we held here last month too - I am not a fan but we have to make an effort and it is good for business - oops did I say that outloud??
Must go, loads to do and have a workman in the house doing lots of little odd jobs, I need to keep reminding him of what's next on the list - he is doing a good job though. Have a good day all, catch up later I hope.

@Dordogne Damsel could you put the bulbs in pots? You could then sink the pots in the ground when the opportunity arises ... or place the pots around prettily if it’s not been possible to get the work done in time.
We have a bright sunny morning with a pale blue sky ... OH is setting off to work as he has a long day ahead. I have some housework to do then a bit of U3A homework to tidy and print.

Hello - goodbye @Dordogne Damsel. What a busy woman you are! Hope all goes well the visitors. Rather you than me - adolescents... Morning anyone else/afties Pat. Hope today has been ok for you xxx Beautiful pink/orange sky this morning, and the heating definitely needed.4 degrees just now. Supposed to be chucking it down later on though, so not sure if I'll get anything else done outside. I'll have another cuppa and a look around to see what's what here
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hope that cheers you up doc Getting cloudier here, but still some watery sun, so I'd better get a shift on before the rain appears. I'd agree with @Dovefromabove about the bulbs. A few nice containers for a display, then some in plastic pots to slot in later. They do so well in pots, and it's an easy fix - well worth doing. I had some spare narcissus that I had bought for my ' raised boxes' so I've potted them up, and then sprinkled grass seed on top. I now have a little 'green seat' to look at rather than just the bare soil. The pot's heavy, so I didn't want to shift it out the way for winter. I used to have a few little turf seats in a previous garden whch the girls liked when they were little.

Morning all. Raining steadily here, glad I planted the alliums yesterday.
I'm about to make sausage rolls for the tea after the charity quiz I'm going to this afternoon. It's being organised by a friend. Diet will go to pot, other friends have been making quiches and cakes.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I've seen the rain radar @Busy-Lizzie. Very wet your way but skipping just south of us so far. We have sunshine so I shall set some butternut squash to roast for a soup and then go and plant an acer or two. Would like to underplant with hostas but that's a mug's game round here given the snail population so I shall use pulmonarias and bergenia instead. They can have some daffs too.
Agree about bulbs in pots @Dordogne Damsel - easy and quick fix and the ones in plastic pots can easily be slotted in to borders when you spot a gap next spring.
Don't drink it all at once @punkdoc !! Save some for Moira.

Woke up to the first proper frost this morning.
Wine delivery later, so that should keep me happy.
