Hello folks, been away again for a family get together. Another 8 hours sat in a car.
We really do travel to some exotic locations, Stockport, Kings Lynn and Stoke on Trent so far and it looks like a trip to Cleethorpes is likely soon! Have to say journeys have been okay traffic wise with no major holdups. Worse bit is not far from home, J.18 on M4 is a nightmare at knocking off time.

The sun is shining so I'd better get out and walk round the garden just to check on everything.

It's all pretty hideous @Allotment Boy. We might moan in this country about all sorts of things, but we often don't realise just how lucky we are  :(
Got a walk, and put the wash out- a guid breeze now, so all good. Made my day when Jezzer played Regina Spektor's  song #Wallet [one of my favourites] on the item about the returned one. I may have had a small hand in that choice.....  ;)
It's a great little story though.
Glad you've got some much needed rain @Obelixx. The usn has come out here, and I'm hoping to get more done outside now that I'm all clean and shiny and had some lunch. Ground's  saturated, even under the trees where I'm working, but it's been a good clear out.
Saw the little wren earlier hopping around among the plants. Lovely little things  :)

    Hello all.
I've been weeding and planting alliums. It was a lovely sunny morning, but clouds are coming now.
The plumber was meant to come this morning, but he came after lunch instead, at least the spare bedroom ensuite loo is back in place. Just in time for daughter this weekend.

I bought double Christmas cards when I was in Norfolk last year, think I have about enough, need around 70 I think.

Have just tried ordering cards from the RHS.  They wanted £10 P&P which seems excessive for 30 cards.  Don't want to order enough for the next 10 years just to save on P&P.

Always good to have a finctioning loo @Busy-Lizzie.

Still wet here.   Off to sew instead.  Broad beans on shopping list for the weekly shop so then I can sow too.

There was a big tray of cards for sale at 20p each in our staff room so I bought one each for my girls . Don't say i'm not getting into the spirit of it all

Bought my cards last year in the sale.  @Dovefromabove I've nearly finished the back of the hoodie.  Don't remember cable pattern being so easy, really enjoying knitting it makes a change from cross stitch and embroidery.

    Lovely jumper  :)
    I can't knit to save myself- I'll correct that - I could do a scarf  ;)
Someone I know is a very accomplished knitter, although she finds it difficult now because she's arthritic. She makes beautiful shawls and bootees etc for her grandchildren. My Mum was good when she was younger too. It's a lovely art form.
Glad you got a nice break @Lizzie27. Do you need a holiday to recover now?  :D
I've been busy outdoors again, moving big slabs etc and preparing for a new compost bin. I struggled to get it hot enough in the wooden one, so that's been recycled, and I'm going to get a plastic one. Not many good spots to put it in either, but I'm going to tuck it into the corner between the house and the extension, which gets a reasonable amount of sun, and has the house walls too. Room to put another one in as well. Fingers crossed it'll be ok.
