More admin today ....plus getting to grips with my new laptop .......I might be gone some time 😉
I'm so fed up with Hubby's Windows 10 that we're sending it off to " the man " who is going to uninstall it and install Windows 7 ( which I have on mine ) and never have problems.
Almost every time he switches it on he has to wait for "updates" and these , apparently , can't be disabled on 10, but I've blocked all updates from windows and Apple on my laptop. I firmly believe they're for the benefit of microsoft and apple, and not for my benefit.

Get some advice and scrap Windows altogether - go Linux........! I have a Windows boot disc (rather than dual booting) and I keep that up to date. It took me from 11am to 11pm on Saturday getting and installing the latest set of MS updates. Insane - I was going to post on the Curmudgeon thread. Sunday morning, I used a 64Bit Fedora 30 USB to install that to a new hard disk - took just over an hour to install the base and then update a completely new OS.

Morning all/afties Pat if you're around.
Could you look for mine while you're at it @punkdoc
Good luck with that @chicky. My pooter spends forever updating too, just to change stuff that doesn't need changing. @steveTu- you lost me at 'dual booting' I'm afraid  :D
Have a good day @Dovefromabove, hope the weather holds for you - murky and windy again here, but it's already double figs, so that's an improvement on yesterday.
@Hostafan1- I went to the nursery yesterday to look at Acers, and a couple of other things. Bought nothing. Check me out -Smugger than a smug, smuggy thing on Smug of the Day   o:)

...good job I didn't then mention the article on Radio 4 this morning about Google's Quantum Computers and Qubits (no, not the Paul Young band or an archaic definition of length).......!

I would have to get Wonky’s Lovely Hub to interpret that ...
I need to buy a new laptop but they all come with Windows 10 don’t they ...

Here you are @punkdoc ... try this for size https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HuwbKakPRRI

Memories ... our dear departed friend used to do a very good version of that with  The Fat Band.
For those of you not lucky enough to have come across the esteemed Fat Band I’ve found something that put a smile on my face ... my friend isn’t on this ... too soon for that https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pr2B96Pdldw

I listened to that avidly @steveTu ... and sent out a request for more coffee ☕️

@steveTu- yes, just as well! Good joke - close but no cigar.... ;)
I need a new pooter too @Dovefromabove, and I'm loathe. They no longer have the Photo Editor that I use and that annoys me too. It's so easy to use. Change would be very difficult!
