Go easy there Dove! I think Crocs are know for being prime culprits of footware in slips and falls (flip flops probably beat them).
Roast coming on nicely... done a tray of chicken breasts rather than one chicken (hope nobody wants a leg).

Agree about contacting PALS for any and all failings by the NHS.  It's the only way they'll pull up their own socks.  @Dovefromabove new Crocs needed too or you'll be a potential candidate for PALS.

Great to see you doing so well @Dordogne Damsel but maybe you should consider reserving some time each week just for you and Charlie and the garden - restorative apart from anything else.

We went to Istanbul for OH's 40th, many moons ago @Chicky.   I came home with a suitcase full of spices and dried fruits and nuts from the spice market and a rug flew home separately.......

Thunder storms as we went to bed last night and damp today but not actively wet.  I have cardboard and fabric and wadding to cut out for tomorrow's patch workshop and then a thorough session of h****work to make downstairs look and feel presentable again.   Chuck to roast for later.

Stay safe and dry everyone and enjoy your day.

Afternoon all. The PALS number is already in my phone ready for tomorrow when they get back to work. Went to see Mom this morning she was glad to be back in the home. Firstborn and the girls came to see her too so she was cheerful when I left her. Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend

I'd have trouble visiting Istanbul. Bit like I've never been to Valencia. The earworms would drive me mad :)  But have a lovely trip - I'm sure it'll be fascinating. And it was Constantinople. Now it's Istanbul not Constantinople...
...

Glad your Mum is home and safe Yvie. What a nightmare that's been :(

Go steady there, Dove. Hello everyone else :)

I'm trying not to panic but something really strange is going on. There's this really bright light and the sky is the weirdest colour - almost blue. Do you think Hinkley Point might have gone critical? Can't think what else it could be.

It's that round red thing we sometimes see in the sky - if we're very lucky!

    Evening all.
Glad mum is ok @Yviestevie. I hope you can get somewhere with your complaint too.
Do you want a loan of the crampons @Dovefromabove?  ;)
Have you got anywhere with BT yet @raisingirl?
Manky day here, although dry until just after lunch. 4 degrees when I got up this morning, but at least it wasnt windy so it was fine for a wee walk.

Brrrr! @Fairygirl we still have t-shirt and shorts wetaher here once the clouds/mist clear.  Just a duvet cover and patchwork quilt on the bed too.

Indoors most of the day tho as I had jobs with deadlines.  However, OH has agreed to help me in the garden on Tuesday, planting one of the larger Japanese maples agianst the ruin where it will get morning and afternoon sun but not the midday bake.   2 smaller ones to go under it and maybe some hostas but I suspect that's just asking for snail bovver.

@raisingirl what earworms do you associate with Istanbul and Valencia?

Had the heating on for half an hour first thing @Obelixx , but it was fine until later. The rian stopped  me doing other outside jobs, but I went and got some bits and pieces so that I can get on tomorrow if it's drier.
Which acers have you got? I pass one quite often and it's beautiful just now, but completely spoiled by other things growing too near it and hiding a lot of it. Shame  :/

Those of a nervous constitution should not click the links.

    Istanbul https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sl4XCVmoXg
Valencia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ps7NYV_kmhQ (although I'm reasonably sure the lyrics are actually "Valencia - rum ti tum ti tim tim tum".

    I'm not risking those @Raisingirl.

@Fairygirl Too dark to go and check labels and I'm out all day till 8;30 tomorrow so it'll be Tuesday now but there's a Sango Kaku and an Orange Dream, one with pinky bits, one with creamy bits and two with burgundy foliage.
