Good stuff @Dordogne Damsel. So pleased things are working out for you.
It's like a soap opera for me @Fairygirl but, like you say, not the same for those involved. She certainly seems happy enough now. Has seen off a cancer, had 2 new hips - both at once - and become a grandmother all this year. Resilient woman!
Glad you're OK too now.

Just watching our Scottish news - and the lady who lost her hands and feet [due to pneumonia and sepsis ] and had hand transplants, has been given an honorary degree. She is inspirational beyond all reason. Corinne Hutton. She set up a charity called Finding Your Feet. Among all the other sh*te going on, these are the sorts of stories that lift your spirits, and make you realise how lucky you are. Got some little bits and bobs done outside before more rain. Pleasant enough although it wasn't terribly warm. Took a long time to get to 15 degrees, but some late sun was very welcome for footling around
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hello ... just arrived at our overnight stopover hotel ...a long long journey... the weather and some of the conditions were awful (as was some of the driving) ... we left at 8:30 and have just arrived near Woburn ... but we did have two one hour stops. Now for supper ... a chill out in front of the box then an early night. Lovely to see DD 😊

Evening all, Nice to hear from you @Dordogne Damsel glad everything is going well for you. Glad to hear your OH is OK @Obelixx . I've been on Nanna Duty today, Gabriel is like grease lightening at the moment, climbing everything in sight. A bit damp and chilly tonight so we've lit a fire.
Morning all, biblical rain here too just when I found time to garden. Put a lot of new little plants in my main bed yesterday and split some of the old ones, hope they haven't floated away overnight. 😱 We needed it though, not had any rain for two months and a hosepipe ban in force left me feeling very nervous for the garden. Next project is to plant 200 spring bulbs in the terrace garden, bulbs are here, just waiting for a bulk compost delivery. Had to drive a friend home in the rain last night, only 25 minutes round trip, awful, you have my sympathy Dove, horrible driving in it. I'm 3 years on from my split and only just over it & that's as long as I don't see him in person. Very tricky escaping from some people. Never thought I would be this happy again. Grateful for every new day. 😁 I hope you all enjoy yourselves today too, get home safe Dove. I'll try & catch up later. 🙂

👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻 @Dordogne Damsel great to see you and know that you’re doing so well 🎂🍰☕️.....on all fronts 💑. You pop up on my facebook feed quite a lot, so I know how yummy your cakes look 😋
Glad Mr @Obelixx is ok too .......scary stuff that.
They kicked my Dad out of hospital on Thursday morning (after op on Tuesday afternoon, still connected to a load of tubes and bags, with an instruction leaflet on how to look after them himself. His surgeon had told him he would be in hospital for 4-5 days. He’s 81 and lives on his own). So family machine - all at work and all at least 50 miles away - kicked into action to get him home from the hospital (instead of the £50 taxi they suggested). I came down Thursday night and have stayed here the last couple. He is doing ok, and feeling more confident now, has a full fridge (but not allowed to step outdoors for 3 weeks in case of infection - so he will have to bite the bullet of online shopping) and will have to be left on his own tonight before my sister arrives tomorrow. The powers that be are insisting he stays in the area “just in case they need to send a district nurse round” (although they have no intention of doing so), so he can’t come stay with one of us - our normal solution to this sort of situation. Could be worse, he could still be in pain or confused, so counting our blessings 😇
On a happier note ....got tickets for a concert at the Albert Hall tonight 🎵🎶🎵. One of my favourite venues ✨✨✨

Can't imagine being outside much here to day @Pat E, biblical amounts of rain forecast.
