Evening all - if you haven’t all wilted in the sun.
Photo of the year I think from Punkdoc - August in a picture.
My apple tree (only one now 😞) is having a fallow year. It has been dropping small apples since they formed really and I can’t see that there will be a good weigh-in this year. Having said that, I picked a few today and made a crumble for an afternoon treat with ice cream - it was most excellent.
    Hope all are ok.

    lovely photo Pdoc.

I think it may have been the hottest day of the summer here. Nice and cool indoors though  :)

Evening all. Just had a quick look back and see most of you have been 'pure meltit'  ;)
Ski slopes for me today - I was a bit nearer to them than Pat is to hers though. ;) Fabulous day - wall to wall sun but a lovely breeze the whole way. Easy walking too, and these on all day. B)  Busier than I like, but only to be expected. Great for all the people on holiday, and brilliant for local businesses. Traffic wasn't too bad either considering it's not a hol here.
Sorry about your mum @Yviestevie. Miserable for you  trying to deal with it. Hope she's a bit perkier soon.  :)
I think my pic tops @punkdoc's, @AuntyRach . I thought @Hostafan1 was out running on the hill, but then I saw he had a dug with him so I knew it wasn't him....

Nae top and just a bum bag thing... :D
Seriously - doc's pic is really lovely. Great when you get two or three different insects on one plant. Really bonny  :)

Ridiculous heat here ... just heard from son who’s been sound engineering at a festival and sleeping (or trying to sleep) four big hairy sound & lighting blokes in a caravan in a field all weekend with no shower ... then he had a quick spruce up and dashed across Suffolk to do the sound for part of the last night of Ed Sheeran’s four nighter in Ipswich ... he sounds kn@ckered ... he’ll sleep well ... eventually  😮

That hillside looks a good place to be @Fairygirl 😎

We've been sitting outside  watching the bats swooping in circles low in the garden ... flying so low and close  we can hear and feel the swoosh of their wings.

We have been sitting out in the garden till late the last 3 eves but some stupid g*t has only half put their BBQ out so there is an acrid smell pervading everywhere. We are melting here. My Allotment greenhouse was +40 today in spite of automatic vents, an open door & shade paint! Home greenhouse was only 35 but so was kitchen. Need to find a cave to hide in!

    Hello.

    My sister has gone home.

Yesterday we went to Fuller's Mill Garden near Bury St Eds. It looked very different from when we went in spring last year, still lovely though.

Today I did some gardening and painted the window we had put in the sitting room. Then went for drinks at friends'.

    Been hot.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Well I'm clearly not going to get a nap, so I might as well say good morning.
I may be a tad sleepy later   ;)
Afties Pat if you're looking in. Hope it's not as chilly with you today  :)
It wasn't as hot here yesterday, going by my little temp guage - 22. It was still around that when I got home just after 7pm. I might have been better walking on Sunday when it was much hotter here, as I'd probably have got more done. Never mind. To be cooler today thankfully [ single figures again overnight] but still dry and some sun, so I'll get on with more jobs outside later.
@Allotment Boy - why are people so thoughtless about these things? When I have  a 'small burning' I make sure I do it later, as people have washing out, and I only do a little at a time.
Glad you didn't have any hold ups with your flight @Busy-Lizzie :)

    Hi all

Bad nights sleep, so have been sitting in garden since first light, listening to the birds and drinking coffee, very pleasant indeed.

Hi doc- I've been awake since half 2, so I got up an hour later and have been drinking teaand watching a thng about  Gene Kelly.
Bit chilly to sit outside, but I've been out for a look around - birds are all singing away   :)
Maybe you'll get a wee nap in the sun later.
