Have you got some matchsticks @chicky;)
Nice to get out each day isn't it?
Have you not got a bucket or a bowl of some kind @Lily Pilly? I think that would be easier than lifting in and out the bath. Separate shower would have been ideal, but I'm guessing you don't have one?

Bad night here too.  Lay awake listening to distant thunder and owlshooting but no rain.   It's grey and cloudy now and we had a shower that was so short I felt I could count the drops.  Not feeling full of energy today so a quiet bit of pottering is in order.

@Lily Pilly  I just take duvets to the launderette and bung them in their biggest machine to wash and then the tumble dryer fluffs them up nicely.  Just hanging out to dry can end up with clumps of feathers and down that never sit right.  Maybe a job for OH today?  He can do an SM run or go and have a coffee while the machines do their thing.

@Pat E I hope that sky delivers some rain.  @Fairygirl that's a lot of rock and a bit of sky!   Good pics tho.

@Lily Pilly advice on spot cleaning down duvet here https://www.diamondbedding.co.uk/pages/how-to-clean-your-goose-down-duvet

One thing I remember being told when I had a down duvet is DO NOT use fabric conditioner.

It’s getting close to midnight here and watching the scenery around Spain around the bike race. It looks so dry.
Obelixx, the clouds did not deliver. Very frustrating.

Maybe tomorrow @Pat E?   We were actually loking a teeny bit greener before the weekend but 3 days of 35C and bone dry have done for all that.   Gone brown and crispy again.

Just had a call from my pal who is now secretary of the patchwork club.   At the end of the season one old member goes round with an envelope to collect for a present for the bureau (Pres, Tres, Sec) to thank them for all their hard work thru the year.   Needless to say, after all the shenanigans, there was no occasion to hand it on as the collector was away on hols at the EGM.  At the next full meeting of the club with 22 of the remaining 25 members present, we voted unanimously that they hadn't earned a prezzie so the collection of 210€ would be put into a fund to buy fabrics for future projects.

One of the 6 departed has had the cheek to ask why the outgoing bureau didn't get their prezzie and what's happened to it!!   I'll be sure to mention it in the letter I'm preparing to ask them for receipts to justify the 300€ of unexplained expenditure in the savings account, the 500€ ditto missing form the "secret" account and the missing petty cash of about 75€ raised from fabric sales of dpare stock to members and all the fabric they bought and prepared for a project that never happened.........

And there was me thinking the funny stuff was over and we coud just have fun.  Gotta laugh!

I couldn't be bothered with that malarkey @Obelixx. What a right royal bunch! It makes you wonder how much of their previous funds were being syphoned off for their own benefit  :/
Lots of rock, but lots of sky too on those hills.  ;)
The Cairngorm plateau is vast. The tors can be seen for miles. I won't be able to do very many of them as they're hard to get to without bivvying overnight.
Two smashing girls right  enough, aren't they? That man and his kid were gonners if they hadn't reacted as they did. Bet their parents are immensely proud.   :)
Is the car all set to go now @Dovefromabove ?
Sun didn't really materialise here, but dry and hazy all day. Thundery looking this morning, but nothing happened. Lots of planting up and moving around done etc so I feel quite virtuous.

Should be @Fairygirl ... he said he’d phone if there was a problem ... I’m picking it up tomorrow. 😊

Just had a big bowl  of homemade minestrone and a crusty wholemeal roll.

Now we’re waiting for the chimes which will tell us that the nice Sikh gentleman in his ice cream van is bringing our dessert 🍦 😋
