Sorry about length of above post, probably not an interesting subject for a lot of you.

Not boring @Busy-Lizzie as it's clearly a worry but I hope you've found a good solution.

Set to get to 38C here today and more tomorrow so I've been out and deadheaded the dahlias, trimmed back some rampant squashes to concentrate their energy and picked some cucumbers and courgettes.   Now to find recipes so we don't get bored with a glut.

    Pipette @Hostafan1

Roast lamb sounds good @Dovefromabove but we didn't need any dinner last night after the BBQ.  Meat and apéro supplied but we all take a salad or a dessert to share.  Would you believe one Brit brought a chocolate blancmange to a Franco-Brit BBQ?  Priceless.  One of my cooky friends who ought to have known better hoped it might be a chocolate mousse.

Hope things are not too messy @Chicky and you don't get fried @raisingirl.  I wouldn't want to be there in that heat.

@Busy-Lizzie ((hugs)) not boring at all ... I was just going to say 'soaked sugar beet pulp and bran', mixed into a sort of porridge ... that's what we used to give some of the older horses or ones that were out of condition ... should put some weight back on them without pepping them up like a corn-based feed would do.  Fingers crossed :)

This morning has been busy.... sheets etc and a load of undies on the line, Kalettes and white sprouting broccoli have been planted (the butterflies have found them again :#), downstairs and upstairs given a quick flick around, some paperwork dealt with and a sausage and egg pie has been made for our supper and is cooling under a cloth.  Son has phoned with all the goss from Latitude and all the containers and veggies have been watered ... now it's 30.5C and I'm indoors ... I'll find something light for lunch and do some sewing indoors in the relative cool.

We had cucumber, pea and lettuce soup for lunch @Dovefromabove with frozen peas but everything else form the garden.  Courgette something for dinner.   Far too hot and dry to be sowing or growing kale here but I will do some in September.

Finally!  Whirlpool had recalled all those tumble dryers that have been causing fires.  Only taken 4 years and will cost them a fortune.   Good.  Should have copped it at the beginning.

I called whirlpool last week  on the basis that we've not used it in about 3 years so might as well let them have it back, only to find that ours isn't on the list of baddies. Damn!!!

Give it to a charity then?  As long as you're sure it's not one of the dodgy ones.

We inherited one with the house we bought in 1983.  I gave it to the battered wives refuge as we never used it.

    Afternoon all.
After a drizzly start to the day (grass says thanks), I can feel the ‘plume’ of hot weather coming in.
Finished most of the chores for the day so having a cuppa outside now.
