I think Boris should audition for the Monty Python sketch ‘Taking the bra of the Debutante.’

All we can do is wait and see and look after our immediate circle of family, friends, neighbours, colleagues and our gardens in the hope the positive energy that creates will spread.   Absolutely pointless concentrating on the fear, hatred, embarrassment and worse.  We'd all end up paralysed and/or mad.

38.5C in the shade here at 2pm so not yet the peak.  Possum and OH have been to the swimming pool for some exercise but decided against going to the beach afterwards.   We've all retreated indoors.   There's a strong breeze tho so I shall venture outside around 5pm.

We are reaping the "benfits" of feeding the local sparrows, tits and chaffinches.   Young birds have been flying in thru open windows or down the chimney and into the log burner....  All fine so far.

Fingers crossed for you and OH @Pat E.   It must be such a relief to know the chemo is done and dusted.   Let's hope he gets his taste bud and energy back soon.  You too.

Freedom @Chicky!!  Wonderful for you.   Good luck with planning the "what next".

@Dovefromabove beats me how you play tennis with a knee so just be careful skateboarding down @Fairygirl's hill.

    Love your agapanthus @Hostafan1.

Which bit of Turkey @Yviestevie and when?  Jolly hot in summer.

Hi to all not mentoned.  Take care in the heat and be kind to your overheating plants and pets.

    It's Boris, thank goodness!

I hope you are right, @Lizzie27, but it was my biggest dread, I fear we'll be a laughing stock around Europe who should be our closest friends. And is cutting taxes for the rich really a good idea? As for Brexit without a deal :o

@Obelixx we go to Fethiye have been going for around 30 years so used to the heat.  This year I'm going at the end of August so it will be a bit cooler than late July when we normally go. One year it was 51 degrees, that was a bit much.
I've had two young birds in the log burner this year too.  Rescued both of them and they flew off without any problems.
