The photo doesn't do the colour justice.
A mad day of watering, potting on , grass cutting and having my hair cut.
Coal face tomorrow then a very early start on Friday to head "up country" for a few days. I'm petrified about stuff needing watered. This is why I never like going away in summer.
    Devon.

No it doesn’t ... it’s just a quick snap on my phone ... but it’s still pretty spectacular ❤️

@Fairygirl can you wave your wand for Hosta? ... he needs a gentle but steady shower or three 🌧

    Evening.
I was chuffed to see two Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers on the apple tree ‘stump’ this morning...and this evening there was a green Woodpecker! Gorgeous!
Hope all the forkers are ok.

We've had only a couple of days rain in about 3 months. @Lyn's had our share.

The green woodpeckers are about here early mornings too ... I think it’s a good year for ants 😉

Why can't I just say no????
Work have just called to ask if I can stay on and do an extra route in the afternoon and I've said yes!!

I can divert some later on, dove - we're to get more overnight rain. It's good to share  ;)
Canna  looks good. I never got round to buying another one.
If I lived nearer you Hosta, I'd gladly do a bit of watering. I know I travel a fair way for hills, but I think Devon's a mile or two too far.... :D
I don't think the woodpeckers ever have need to come in gardens round here, which is a pity. I hear them now and again over in the woodland.
Ditto the painted lady butterflies. We used to get them in the old garden round the corner, but I see loads when I'm out walking along the [very narrow] farm tracks. It's lovely just now - cowparsley giving way to hogweed and meadowsweet, and all the thistles and buttercups full of bees and insects. The bracken and willowherb is taller than me, so it's a bit damp after the rain.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

No rain here for some weeks. Even the potatoes are starting to look parched. The only watering I do is toms and cucumbers in the GH (no hosepipe) so I'll lose my beans if we don't get some rain soon  :(

Just come home from a garden club talk by Ann Marie Powell ......so exuberant and bubbly and totally infectious 😂.  Her motto is “positivity breeds contentment” ......will have to remember that one 👍🏻  She took us through the way she built the Countryfile garden at Hampton Court last year .......fascinating and entertaining.   Great evening 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
