Just as well you're not having any of your events/outings etc here - p*ssing down again. Think we've only had three dry days in the last few weeks, NBeach! Only glanced back briefly - lovely necklace, doc. I'm sure Moira's delighted with it.
I'm not involving myself in the bitching and bickering about the 'like' button. I said my piece early on and that's it. Can't bear all that nonsense. Everyone needs to take a long hard look at what they say on any thread, before they press send, IMO. When you consider that we're commemorating the 75th anniversary of D Day, it's all pretty pathetic.
Birds are hungry here too Dove, and the little mouse. Don't think I'll get anything done outdoors. Quote for the leaky roof is less than 300 quid, which is a relief. Hope they can do it soon. Don't want fairylet to have a bucket in the middle of her bed
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Sounds a good quote @Fairygirl ... when you think of what Employer's liability insurance costs if folk are working above head height!
Supper is all prepped ... shall I hang washing out before I go to tennis ....... perhaps not, OH is cycling into the city ... he always says his theme song is 'Why does it always rain on me?'

I'm quite relieved, Dove. Was it expecting it to be more. They wont need scaffold though. I suppose I'll have to move the greenhouse and the big pots though, as they're in the firing line. Literally Hope the shoulder's ok for the tennis.

It’s my left shoulder this time so it doesn’t interfere too much with the tennis 🎾 However I’ve just had a call to say that tennis is cancelled as electricians have turned up to work on the lights in the hall. I’ve done the hswk, it’s too wet to hoe the veg patch, stir fry veg have been prepped and Asian sticky short ribs are chuntering in the slow cooker. I shall just have to watch the DDay commemorations, knit, read a book and hold the sofa down ... that sort of thing. It’s a hard life 😥

Lots of helicopter action above us over the last few days in preparation for the D-day commemoration. Big Chinooks vibrating the house as they pass low overhead. We had a mixed flight of eight helicopters in formation over a couple of days ago as I was out filling bird feeders.
In the other engineering news section I was very surprised when my lawnmower started first time last week. I could hardly get the car up the drive (unmade track really) on return from holiday so fully expected the usual wrestling match to wake the lawnmower from its Winter rest. It has never started so easily in over 20 years!
That's a good quote for the roof work, FG. Quite a relief, I imagine. I wish we could even out the rainfall a bit better. I'm all for regional variations and different characteristics, but you drowning at the same time as me generating clouds of dust just by walking across my lawn seems extreme when there's not really *that* many miles between us.
I have been out too much of late. All enjoyable stuff (apart from the protest march, which while full of lovely people was duty, really) but I need some time alone. Can't do 'social' too many days in a row. I have a day alone today but seem to have entered a climate emergency / NHS / Trump / Brexit slough of despond. Am hoping that planting stuff will help.
In better news, Bow is exactly half way through her exams, and well over half way through the exam period. And they're going OK

Been out all day having lunch and a walk on the beach with a couple who have a holiday chalet next to the beach at La Tranche. Lovely relaxing day and fun with their 4yr old spaniel too. He'll be coming to us for a week of hols soon while they head back to the UK to see family. That'll be fun for our pair too and he knows about cats so they'll be OK too.
Now to get on with admin to sort out the dementor problems then facechat later with Possum who's coming home on Saturday for a 2 week break.
I found Brian Cox's Planets fascinating again last night but ever so very boggling so will have to watch again.

I feel for you in the south LG - we might moan about the rain here, but I'd hate to have dry conditions so much and be constantly thinking about watering. It did go off for a little while and I got a reasonably dry walk before it came back on again. Been a couple of dry spells since late afternoon. I think the dunnocks have got webbed feet now Glad the exams are going well for Bow. Horrible things aren't they? Is it still handbags at dawn with the wimmin, Obelixx?
