Evening all. Been out for the day as we had errands to run in Nantes. Good day for being in a car except for the lateral gusts of winds - 135kph and lots of rain in the Vendée, Loire Atlantique and western coast.
I am now stocked up on Asian goodies - spices, soy sauces, sesame oil, kaffir lime leaves - and then IKEA to get the right sized feet for our new bed and a replacement lamp cos they sent a glass one thru the post and it broke. What a surprise!
Came home with only minor traffic problems - Pentecost weekend here - to find our garden has been blown about a bit but no damage. Just pots blown over and heavy metal chairs toppled. The rain is welcome.
It's all heading for the UK so tie things down and wrap up well.
LG - not so much intrigue as bloody silly women telling lies and being obstructive and expecting to get away with it. I have no truck with such stupidity. They will be sorted one way or another.
Pat - well done. Has the stuff to tickle his taste buds arrived yet? Is it helping? More than half way there now so not so long till it's over. Big hugs for you both.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Hope you had enough rain to make some impact Obelixx. We've enjoyed a good dry day, but the wind's up now and the rain isn't far away. It's quite thundery too. I know you're probably in bed now Pat, but glad hubby is eating something that he's happy with. I think it's important to eat what you fancy, under the circumstances, regardless of what it is. Good haul Hosta. Aren't you sick of hostas yet? Hope today went well. Fortunately it wasn't too hot on the hill, and the rain stayed away until I was heading towards Ayr. Some fabulous leaden skies, and you could see rain falling from the heavy clouds out to the east. Not the most thrilling hill I've ever been on, but good to get out and give the thighs some extra work.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Dunno Lizzie. It was Merrick - one of the Corbetts [hills between 2,500 and 3,000 feet] in Galloway, in the south of Scotland. Some have a long walk in, some are straight into the hill right from the start. I don't really look at the distances, but I looked at the route description - it's just over 8 miles, and around 2,800 feet of ascent
Perhaps it's green cos you've eaten something dodgy....

You'll get sick of walking in the Scottish hills before I get sick of hostas. xx
