    Morning all/afties Pat
Garden's looking splendid Hosta. Lot of hard work paying off  :)
Promising looking day here so I'll hopefully get some planting done of my dark sweet peas. They're even later than usual in getting to good size, but that's how it goes.
I'll have to move the little greenhouse and the big pots for the men coming to do the roof this week too. I don't want any tiles dropping onto those. Not sure how I can protect my peony which is covered in big buds. It's right at the end, and shouldn't be in the firing line, but.....  :|
Your OH can have my share of teacakes, Dove. I've never liked them.  :D
I expect we should speak quietly as Wonks will be sleepy...dirty stop out  ;)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Morning everyone. It’s just after5 pm here Wonky. Sound as though you need a bit of sleep.😏

We’ve had a lovely very sunny autumn day, but the clouds are now rolling in. Getting going in the kitchen and thinking about the evening tv viewing.

Morning all (🤫 whispering so I don’t disturb Wonky 🤫)

We’re heading into London today.  There’s an exhibition of Sorolla paintings 🖼 at the National .....we first came across him when we visited his house in Madrid, which is now a lovely little gallery of his work.....and he made quite an impression on us (see what I did there 🤭🤪🤣).  Then we’ll do another one of Mr C’s hidden London walks around the Strand and Fleet Street.

Have a good Sunday folks 😁

Fairy, I attach a large open umbrella (I pinch one of hubbys golf ones)to a stout post and place over the plants
    looks hilarious but it works!

The, unexpected, rain has paused my plan to do some garden pottering today.
Maybe I’ll watch the tennis final this afternoon.
    Have a good day all.

Tea cakes?  Bun/bread things with mixed fruit?  Quite liked them toasted and with lots of butter but haven't had one in decades and they wouldn't be my first choice.

FG - put some tall canes around your peony and cover with a cloth of some sort.  If nothing else, it will indicate to the builders that care is needed.  We had beds bed up against the house in Belgium and any workmen were always reminded about being careful with the big feet and ladders - in a way that made them humour the eccentric English........

It is cool here and there's a thin, patchy grey covering.   I shall plant a rose or two later and a clematis, depending on how long it takes to dig each hole and clear bindweed roots and stones.   Possum has just announced she wants me to go with her for walkies - fitness drive - so that'll take some time too.

More fun on the patch wars front.  The new secretary A-M - small, mild, hates confrontation but has a strong sense of self and fairness - is now up in arms.   We've been kind, polite and friendly all week to the outgoing president and her crew, despite all sorts of lies and obstructions.  However, last night A-M discovered that the dark side had registered a new association the day after we had handed in our 7 candidatures for the new committee.  It seems they thought the club would fold after they resigned and they could sneak off with the money and no check on the accounts or stock.   Ha!  Gloves off now for A-M and the others.  Good game.

Not ‘proper’ teacakes @Obelixx 😋 the chocolate covered biscuit and meringue variety ... you’ve missed an earlier post ... the creator of Tunnocks’ Tea Cakes has just been knighted (and not just for services to gluttony I would add).
