Soooo wet wet wet here today. All the small birds are sheltering in the big ash and just popping to the feeders when the rain lightens up a bit.

Son phoned a little while ago and said he’d come across a potentially nasty accident. A silver coloured Audi had broken down and been abandoned just around a blind bend in torrential rain on an A road and a woman in her seventies drove  into it.

He got the woman out and put her in his car ... she was badly shaken, bruised and breathless ... he called 999 for police and ambulance and then moved his bright red car to
’before’ the bend and put lights and hazards on so no one else drove into the accident.

When the police arrived they said he’d done everything right 👍.
The lady has gone to hospital for a checkup but the paramedics think she’ll be home by tomorrow. The police are trying to trace the owner of the Audi 🙄

Son said tell everyone the conditions on the road are pretty grim in places with a great deal of spray. If you don’t absolutely have to go out in this weather, don’t!

    Evening.
Thay accident could have been so much worse @Dovefromabove - well done to your son for helping.
We have been dry today - although gloomy. Rain coming again tonight though. (Note to self - get towels off the line once finished typing this!).
Just doing a chicken curry here - bit of a random concoction but smells good anyway.

@AuntyRach he said other cars were just driving past ... no one else stopped to see if the driver needed help. I’m very proud of him. He’s always been very level headed in an
    emergency 👍

Unfortunately, it doesn’t surprise me that people didn’t stop - too many selfish and thoughtless beings about.
Feels very un-June like at the moment. I am craving evening gardening, meals outside and even just the windows open!

Well done to your son Dove, sounds as though he did everything right (you obviously brought him up very well!).

I want to have lunch on the terrace ... I shall go to sleep dreaming of summer menus.
We had Lancashire Hotpot for supper ... I don’t remember cooking it in June before ... and very welcome it was too 😋

Night night all ... sleep tight 😴

We’ve been watching the bike race in France, and feel sorry for them having to ride through wet cold conditions. They looks very cold.

There is predicted rain here, once again, but nothing but clouds for the past several days. I’ve got washing on and hope it gets dry.

    Good morning all  :) ☕️
Gday @Pat E if you’re about 😊 still damp and shrilly here, although it’s not actually raining at the moment.  We think we might go out for the day tomorrow ... apparently tomorrow’s showers may be ‘further apart’ ... not sure where we’re going yet.
Talking of the cycling ... we’re not watching it,  but the news reports are full of Chris Froome’s crash ... sounds really nasty 😱

Oh no, Dove, not Froomie. My favourite. We don’t get to see it until late in the evening, so that’s news to us. I’ll make sure I’m watching him carefully tonight. Thanks for the warning.
Have you spoken to Hosta?  I’ve been thinking about him and his Hubby and wonderng hw they’re going.

Hubby has had a look, Dove. Apparently it was a training run. They are on time trials tonight, not a race. That unfortunately means he won’t be in Le Tour. 😡😭 boo hoo.
