    Absolutely gutted here...
An old apple tree, which had already lost two big branches over the last few years, has just lost another big branch. We had been looking outside, watching the thunder storm, and literally half an hour later - it broke off. It must have been saturated and the weight was too much. I am quite upset as it is a lovely feature, and apples were forming. I suspect it has been getting weaker for a while.

Not sure whether to cut down now, or just enjoy what is left...

I'm impressed @Fairygirl, that's a serious walking distance. Do you carry a GPS tracker? We liked Dumfries and Galloway very much - by car!

@AuntyRach - how sad. A mature apple tree is a marvellous thing to have. They don't live forever though.

@Busy-Lizzie @Obelixx @Dovefromabove thank you for the info on stand mixers - looks like Kenwood might be my best bet. I make bread every week all by hand at the moment.

We've had a dose of rain today - and how. Spectacular thunderstorm right over our heads early evening. All quiet now, apart from the soft drip-drip of overflowing rain barrels  :) It's been a busy week with work - all good though.

I'm hoping for a bit of gardening time this weekend - I'm behind with absolutely everything now.

It’s good to see you back Hosta. 😃
Obelixx, the miracle berry tablets haven’t arrived yet. He let Hubby know that he’d been overwhelmed with orders after the TV show about them, so ran out of stock.
Fairy, you sound as though you’re getting back into your hill walks again. You’ll feel good about that.

Hi Dove. Thanks for the hugs. We have a long weekend here. The first Monday in June is celebrated as Queens Birthday holiday.

Huge huge hugs for Hosta and Mr Hosta (()).....and many positive vibes heading your way.

Rain yesterday was torrential, but we seemed to escape the gales.  So sorry to see your apple tree AuntyR .....very upsetting.

A weekend with not many plans ahead ...haven’t had one of them for a while.  Might pootle into town this morning, to see what options I have to upgrade my phone.  Then a neighbouring village has its open garden weekend, so might visit a few of them.  Plus its about time my seedlings got moved on to bigger pots .....feels a bit behind this year 🙈
