I love my Kenwood, but I think I love my Magimix even more, but use them for different things. Kenwood was a wedding present in 1973, still works.
Enjoy your walk, Fairygirl.
I'll finish putting away crockery and cutlery and garden chairs then I'm going to see a friend this afternoon for a cup of tea. She came yesterday and helped but too busy for a chat.

Pat It's not too big a stretch - just a small hill [376 m and a high start ] with footpaths in amongst the windfarm. I can see the windmills from the house - if the cloud's not down. Hoping to get out properly tomorrow as it's finally looking a bit better.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
@Busy-Lizzie on the strict understanding that neither you nor I has a connection to either company if you were going to buy a stand mixer primarily for bread, would you go for the kenwood or the magimix?

@raisingirl I use the Kenwood for bread with the dough hook. My Magimix doesn't have a dough hook, but it makes very good pastry and crumbles with the blades. But OH has bought me a Moulinex bread maker so now I use that for bread, so easy. But results are different with different brands of flour.

Looked up the Multipro, much more like my Magimix as Dove said. Mine is a Kenwood Chef. Also has a K beater for creaming for cakes, mincing attachment, liquidiser etc.

I've got a stick blender and a bread maker, but I always make cakes with a wooden spoon! After all this time it would feel a bit odd to use a mixer, I think (not that I've got any room to store one anyway). Admittedly I only ever make one cake at a time, unlike you BL!
It just rained for a minute or two - woohoo! I've got lots of potting on I need to do but if it's just showers I can shelter under a tree and shouldn't get too wet - bring it on, clouds
Realised after OH left this morning that we've been together 27 years today. Oops! He must have forgotten too, as he's normally better at this stuff than me and there was no mention. I shall make his favourite cake (with a spoon ). But first, I need to phone a man about a violin.
Have a good day all.

Lg, I have always made caks, etc everything from scratch, carefully folding in flour with metal spoon, making jam, candles, soap, I have De Quervans Disease both hands, left one worst wearing metal splint thing, have hardly been able to use my hands at all for months. The past 5 weeks I have been forced to buy ready done veg, even frozen mash. So I had no choice with the mixer, its been very depressing, I can tell you. I have had 3 frozen shoulders, (diferent times of course) you learn your limitations within the weakness and pain, BUT you can do anything without your hands. I always said I dont have room for a mixer either, open plan bungalow, lounge to kitchen, tiny hall with bedrooms and bathroom, it will probably live in the spare room wardrobe.I have a hand electric mixer, I cannot hold it. I had to give up knitting and sewing last October, and am about 6 weeks behind with garden and seed sowing.
I have a Braun food processor plus a Kitchen Aid mixer on a stand with a mincer/grater attachment. I use either or both for making cakes, muffins, biscuits, bread, meringues etc depending on the recipe. I also have an old hand-held Kenwood chefette whisk I now tend to use just for whipping cream or when I want smooth mashed potatoes. It has a blitzing stick attachment but I find it cumbersome so I also have a hand held Braun stick blender which is easier to drive and great for small quantities of soups and sauces and then I have a wee electric coffee grinder I use for spice mixes.
Dull and grey today but breezy so blue bits too. I've done my admin for the day and await the return of the "ball" - such fun - and will go and prepare a cullen skink for dinner then go and dig some holes for a clematis and a couple of roses, assuming time, weather and knee permit. MRI next Friday. Let's hope it can be fixed with infiltrations and physio and not another flipping op.
Hope you get your hill FG. Enjoy your natter BL. Congrats LG. Hope he likes the cake.
Keep warm Pat. I quite enjoy winter evenings and huddling as long as I have something to keep my hands and brain occupied. Have you fely like doing any drawing or colouring lately?
Hope everyone is OK. Hugs where needed.

Morning all.
I hope your feet get better soon, Chicky.
