This forum behaves like a group a 'real' people rather than a virtual community, probably because the average age means the majority predate virtual communities by a few decades.

Try going into the local pub and sitting on the stool at the end of the bar where Jimmy always sits. It's much the same.
Perhaps that's what I meant by 'sense of community' @raisingirl ... I'm very used to village pubs ;)

I was wondering that too... it does seem a very divisive issue that has caused a ridiculous amount of aggro. Perhaps a mod-instigated poll, properly publicised with a decent timescale, would be the only fair way. That way, everyone has their say and whatever the outcome, everyone would have to lump it.

It was decided when the site was built, almost everyone agreed.
I don’t think it should have been up for discussion at all, this is the site, that’s it.
Would anyone go into their local shop and change the stock around because they liked it better.

I believe Daniel posted that it would be a "week or so's"  trial beginning on the 3rd June.

@Busy-Lizzie ... you and I think differently about this, that’s all ... we’re both entitled to give our opinions ... it doesn’t stop me liking and respecting you (and even being quite fond of you in a ‘gardening friend’ sort of a way). 😊

I’ve been ‘got at’ by a couple of people on here for having expressed my view and explaining why I came to that conclusion.

I’m afraid some folk just don’t respect other people’s right to disagree with them 😢

But now things are calm .. I suggest that we just leave things up to Daniel to decide ... it’s what he gets paid for 😊

@Dovefromabove I'm very happy to leave it up to Daniel. I just wish people wouldn't make unkind comments about people they don't even know. I have been a bit shocked when they've attacked you too.

I have good friends who have very different political views to me but it doesn't stop us liking each other and being friends.
