Well I’ve no wish to argue about it, that’s not why I commented, but I don’t know how to use the quote function & would appreciate it if someone can enlighten me on how it’s done Tia 😊
Click on the quote button at the bottom of the post @Nanniemo ... that will copy the post into a text box ... place your cursor on the white space below the shaded ‘quote’ and you can then type what you want to say about it. 😊

Who are the posters who 'post too much'?
If I am one, ignore me.
Even if one decides to ignore a poster, that fails to work if that poster starts a new thread. I thought I should let you know that as you start lots of threads. I still read and enjoy some of them.

@Purplerain, it amuses me. If it peeves you honi soit qui mal y pense.
I wear purple, but I couldn't quite manage three pounds of sausages.
Some of my threads fall on stony ground and sink down the pages into oblivion. So what.

Eh? Sometimes I think commenting on a UK forum at this time on a Friday night is not wise. Xx lol.

I have to say I don’t think adding a like button would improve this forum. On the rare occasion it might be clear why someone has liked a post, but more often than not you need some words.

Also, if a post has been viewed tens of times and only has one like, does it mean that all the others disapprove of it? A person that doesn’t receive likes might feel excluded and even offended.

It’s also a bit impersonal and reductive. It encourages a simplistic mentality that doesn’t understand much beyond what it likes or dislikes.

I like this forum and it’s the only online interaction I have. I find it very helpful and informative. I like its spirit of camaraderie and sharing. It’s all about having good intentions and approaching people in a friendly, non-egotistical, open-minded (I fell like saying open-hearted) way.

I like you, but I don't love you.
Surely we have a bigger vocabulary, we should use it.
As for the nonsense of a small majority having too much influence on the site, it has been said before, it wasn't true then, and it isn't now.
The new site was trialled by several people, and a like button was not felt to be useful.
The site continues to grow, so I guess someone is doing something right.

A lot of folk seem not to understand that ‘views’ include not only those by human beings but those by Bots

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_bot

They are puzzled that they seemingly have a lot of views but no one has commented.

That would be Wikipedia. But why discredit any threads that you are not a part of? Seriously, It just seems strange that you have gone out of your way to prove that nobody looks at popular threads where you don't comment. GW is not about you @Dovefromabove although I enjoy your input sometimes.
