Oh dear, now I've liked something that B3 wrote, she won't like it. Maybe she won't notice :*

@B3 I think it was on the grammar and spelling thread, about bustles. Made me laugh.

I don’t think a like button really adds anything. I ‘like’ that people respond using their own words and thoughts.

So do I @AuntyRach ... it shows that folk like it enough to think
about it and put it into words. I like words a lot, but I would, I write as well as paint. Maybe some folk aren’t that keen ... that’s up to them and now they have the choice.

Maybe its like automatic cars ... I hate driving them ... I love the interaction with the car that using the gearbox properly demands.
Maybe one day my left knee will give up on me and I’ll need an automatic but driving will never be as enjoyable again.

For me, using words to express my thoughts and feelings is enjoyable and I shall continue to do it.  :)

....  Personally I hate the idea with a passion.  It encourages competition for the most 'Likes' and I think it would destroy the gentle sense of community we have here.

I've watched my husband use the like icon . I asked him why he clicked everything even when he hadn't even read the posts. He said he did it to be polite. He could've been liking anything!
I never use it. If I've got something to say, I say it.
I nearly clicked on the "hand" to agree!!
If it doesn't promote competition or "populism", it certainly encourages laziness!

    So many wise words appearing.
Lets keep using them and try not to be too lazy.
This is not a dig at anyone, but like others words are so important and I find writing on here helps me to think more clearly about what I actually want to say.
How can you lie there and think of England
