Seems the late cold weather caught me out, I've pulled up a load of bolted carrots and some beetroot today. They were sown in plugs then planted out with polycarbinate tops and sides to protect them but I reckon the late had frosts did for them. Lessons learned.

Lots of watering done today and some weeding.

I have my 1st courgette nearly ready for picking and the 3 grafted aubergine plants are looking fabulous with several flowers apiece.

I am just about to pull my first beetroots tomorrow,  so will let you know if it was a "cold thing".
I this year used a polly cold frame on half my bed, and it has saved my beets and carrots (I think) through April and May cold, even though they were planted a month early because of having it. Will see at the same time how the carrots are doing, they really should be ready, but it's hard to tell as they have lots of top growth.

Have pulled three beets of cricket ball size .
The carrots are ok but the Nantes are still too small to pick, the speedo could be picked as they are about a third bigger at about 3" so covering them with the cold frame for two months has worked well @Wilderbeast

Just a quick picking trip to plots today.  Broad beans,  globe artichokes,  1 courgette,  strawberries and started on cherries.

@Allotment Boy , my Broad beans not ready for picking as Autumn sowed ones didn’t germinate , first time ever but later planted are doing very well
Noticed last years chard gone to seed but has black fly on it so will leave it and see if they stay off beans
I do grow globe artichokes but the o/h thinks they are to much messing about to prepare them , so not for eating , they do look nice

Pulled the entire broad bean patch, podded, blanched and froze them all. Sowed 2 rows of cavelo Nero kale and a row of flyaway carrots on part of the bean patch. Sowed a tray of Pak choi destined for the remaining bean patch. Picked my 1st mangetout and another courgette. Picked off more side shoots on the tomatoes, where do they all come from.

Likewise I harvested all my broad beans this morning to be truthful they were on the small side which makes a change as they are usually a bit too mature before I get a round to harvest them, they were delicious though and froze enough for another couple of meals.

I planted out another batch of lettuce in the bed where the garlic had been.  Did a bit of hoeing.  Then picked more Broad beans,  cherries,  and strawberries.  The cherries are particularly good this year.

I read that some people are having a bad season but my experience is that although we got off to a late start everything seems to be growing well and looking healthy, of course every year some crops do better than others but I haven't noticed any epic fails so far this year, we could do with a bit more warmth but a few months ago I was asking for rain, can the gardener ever be satisfied?
