@BenCotto, that's so true ! I remember going to the shop and choosing a box of chocolates for my mum's birthday. I usually went for the ones with dogs/puppies as opposed to the cottage. Thought l'd missed jobs for the weekend @jaffacakes, as it started late and l missed the very end on my recording.
I watched it tonight. I've seen better episodes that's for sure. I had a bit of a gut feeling Montys heart isn't quite "into" the whole Gardeners World thing at the minute. Nothing definite..just a hunch. It had an air of "end of term" about it.
Im never one to moan because i so love and look forward to GW on a sunday morning But..... this episode did feel a bit cobbled together with a lot of recent ish repeats no viewers gardens or jobs for the weekend so hate to say it i enjoyed beechgrove more
It did have a different "vibe" didn't it @robiwan ? I was a bit taken aback when Monty said he could watch the gooseberry film over and over again. I wondered if he was being ironic. That poor wife !
Back to 9pm this week, and Adam Frost is presenting.
"Adam is in his garden, catching viewers up on his new patio project and discussing his plans for the autumn.
Arit Anderson travels to Somerset to meet landscape designer Dan Pearson, to find out about the design and planting principles he has used to create his own garden. In London, film director and musician Don Letts and his wife show how they have combined their different tastes for plants and culture in their town garden.
There is another chance to see Frances Tophill meeting a gardener who grows most of the vegetable ingredients needed for Thai cooking in her back garden, and the team visit two enthusiasts with a passion for air plants at their nursery in Lancashire.
And there are more tips and ideas from viewers’ gardens."
As for last week's lazy, uninspiring effort, it deserves the TV equivalent of the Golden Raspberry award for bad films except that I really like raspberries. Maybe a mouth-drawing sour green gooseberry then.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."

Thank goodness for Beechgrove and having Adam to look forward to next week.

Hopefully a bit more inspiring than last week.
