"With autumn on the horizon, the seasonal planting of bulbs for spring-flowering begins at Longmeadow.
Frances Tophill meets a gardener whose allotment is filled with both traditional and exotic vegetables, and Toby Buckland visits The Newt in Somerset to find out about its chequered garden history and to explore its emergence as one of the UK’s most exciting gardens. There is another chance to see Mark Lane travel to Oxfordshire to look at how ornamental grasses, perennials and annuals can be used in planting design to create exciting combinations, and the team meets a gardener in Northamptonshire who uses the plants in her garden to extract natural dyes for fabrics.
And there is a selection of films from viewers' gardens."
This one’s not about a dead dog - it’s just dedicated to him 🐶
I’m reading it now, and it’s wonderful.....I love the way he writes. Makes you feel like you’re there. And I’m learning lots too.
And,just a warning, it is not a gardening book, it’s about all the wildlife he encounters in his garden and farm. Bit like Springwatch ......which I also think is amazing 😉
If you watched the interview, you would know that the book is not about Nigel (although granted he did write one about the various dogs he has owned). It is about the various species of wildlife in his garden at Longmeadow and also a private garden that also belongs to him. I suppose Alan Titchmarsh should have stuck to garden books and not written any fiction (having read some of his novels, that may be a fair point ).

I stand corrected. Every time I've heard it mentioned on radio etc, they've said it was ABOUT his dog, forgive me.
I have finally found time to watch last week's GW this pm and, you guessed it, I fell asleep! Loved the Knees garden and the soil chappy and Carol on monardas but didn't like the mannequin garden at all. Fell asleep in the composting section so will have to try again.
