However, I loved revisiting Dove Cottage gardens with Carol Klein tonight. Just a few miles from where I used to live, and very familiar... felt a bit homesick...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Frances keeps saying “veg” instead of vegetables. I don’t know why but it annoys the hell out of me 😖
Frances is one of MANY people who find everything " AMAZING". Zoe Ball and Jamie Oliver and the Springwatch team amongst others for whom everthing is " AMAZING" Nothing against any of them, but can't stand "AMAZING" IN ALMOST EVERY SENTENCE.
@BenCotto how do you feel about chimbley for chimney? I'm not sure if that's just a Welsh thing, or if it turns up elsewhere? And then there's 'mischevious'.
I work with lots of people for whom English is not their first language and am able to shrug about almost all of these quirks, these days. I may mentally say 'fewer' but have learned not to say it out loud most of the time. I generally wouldn't know where to start with the same sentence in Italian or Spanish, so as long as I'm clear what they mean, let it go.
One that does still annoy me is the switch on the BBC news to 'tabloid' headlines that started a few years ago with the last revamp. It's so awkward and 'stagey', it grates.
I haven't watched GW yet. I've ended up missing quite a few episodes this year - just don't seem to find the time
Gardening on the edge of Exmoor, in Devon
“It's still magic even if you know how it's done.”
Referring to a cooking ingredient as 'this bad boy' 😬
Have you watched any of the Harry Hill on TV series? He's picked up a few of these cliches. I think the cookery programme worst offender was two ingredients being described as 'best friends'.

What about those two very attractive young men who are on the Charlie dimmock so called 'gardening' makeover show? Everything is 'bootiful'.

Can't bring myself to watch it. Saw a bit once and vowed never to watch it again.
Didnt really engage with this episode. Was looking for some focus on autumn gardening, prepping for the winter garden that sort of thing that I can use today.
Id agree they should show repeats from yesteryear particularly if they are relevant to the season we are in or going into.
