    I thought he was named after our friends  West Highland White terrier.  Archie, SIT.
     Hissing it down all day here. At least it drowns out the noise of trees going through a huge shredder.

    I've just heard the the 27 son of my closest friend has just died from cancer.

    I think we are leaving the age of antibiotics, and entering an age of gene therapy.  CRISPR technology will make a huge difference, only trouble is it is individualised and horrendously expensive. If it costs half a million pounds to cure someone, only the rich will get treated. Certainly our overloaded NHS will not be able to afford it.  Is it science fiction to imagine some modified virus being released on our overcrowded world, and a selected population getting the vaccine?
