Thanks for all your good wishes folks.Much appreciated. Was going to follow Dr's orders and do more gardening but it's raining heavily here - again. Going to a GC with a friend this afternoon for a natter and some cake.
The ILs are now replete with courgette and goat's cheese fritata and all sorts of healthy salad plus squidgy chocolate and cherry brownies - all made form fresh - and have just departed with OH driving them to Nantes airport and then going on to a B&B somewhere to the east and north of there as he has an inter club golf match tomorrow. This leaves me home alone with the dogs and cats.
Bliss. Lovely to see them but they talk over everything.
There's a strong blow coming from the south west and bringing some big, heavy looking clouds. Maybe we'll get a good dump later. Despite the weather, the bearded irises are putting on a fine display this year after doing very little last year. I love irises in any shape or form but these are mostly new to me and very bonny.

Woke up to proper rain here for the first time in months so you're not the only one who was desperate @Hostafan1. It has dried up again now but hoping the ground has had a good soak. Timed the visit to Kew perfectly yesterday though it was a bit cool at times would not have wanted to do that in the rain. The "tea" was just as you would expect (crust-less finger sandwiches, scones with cream, and small fancy cakes) we had that early 2:30 so it was sort of Lunch & tea combined. Only managed to walk round about a third of the grounds but we did "do" most of the glasshouses thoroughly.
I don't blame him. There's a real hooly blowing in off the Atlantic and whistling round one's nether regions and chimneys. Definitely a tucked up sort of day.

Obelixx i could do XX I could do with some of your goats cheese friatta. Sounds delicious. been trying to hold it together as we all had rubbish news yesterday but my poor son in law the worst. He has been removed from the trial, most if you know about this. His bloods did. It match the strict criteria required for the trial. He was the only one from the Uk, so this feels like we have run into a brick wall. Trying to stay strong but it also affects Lily’s future. However as she is only 6 there is time for research to favour her. I cant go to Chelsea which feels like the last straw 😩

😊 it’s chilly so I’ve put the heating on or it’ll be too cold to knit when @islander pops in for tea and cake ... 🍰 ☕️
