Good morning everyone Must confess to feeling tired this morning, very warm last night in spite of the fan running. May have a snooze this afternoon . Planning on doing deadheading this morning before it gets too warm.
@nultyphilip224 , love that picture of Little B squawking away. I do hope she stays safe. Foxy Molly seems fairly relaxed about it all, yet again a stunning photo of the lovely girl. I hope those photos of the heucheras don't set @Fran IOM off, they are lovely though. I can quite see how people become addicted to growing them. If l didn't know any better, l would think those Tigridia were Crocosmia - my skills at plant id are a bit hit and miss ! Thanks again for taking the time and trouble to post each day (well night actually), l am now inspired (if l could just wake up a bit more....🙄). Hope you have a productive day
Good Morning all. Nice bright morning but think it's going to cloud over later but temperature 18c so will be quite pleasant. Not got any plans at the moment although there is plenty to be getting on with. Keep putting off my outside plot which is covered in weeds. It's length is the width of the allotment and the width of a pavement. (?) It's obviously on the public road and people let their dogs walk over it and throw litter etc. Can also be dangerous if cars come round the corner and I'm standing in the road! In spite of all the weeds and neglect things seem to grow well. Feels like I am doing community service! @nultyphilip224 Don't worry if you miss a post. I am not surprised you get muddled with all these messages these "girls" keep posting especially in the early hours. I get muddled at any time of the day never mind after midnight. In a shop window yesterday I had to smile when I saw a soft toy (fox) with a note on him saying "Foxy loves his sunglasses". (Advert for children's sunglasses.) I could have a "proper" phone at any time but I don't think I would be able to get used to it. Everyone says I should have one but do I take any notice My Cornus seems to be doing well but not as high as yours yet. it is planted out. My Verbena is in flower now. That first photo looks very like it but also to me looks like a hydrangea. Hopefully can get a photo of saved rose but think it may be fallen petals today. Was googling the difference between geraniums and pelargoniums last night as I'm not sure what mine are. Think it was on the Hampton Court flower show last night. @AnniD I haven't picked up my energy since coming back from holiday so hopefully it will return soon. Our fan decided not to work anymore. The cat now sleeps outside our bedroom door to make sure I'm not going to disappear again. When do crocosmia flower? Have so many yet to come out and I did buy some extra from you know where so interested in what the colours will be. Before I went on holiday I watered all my house plants with miraclegro and on my return my Peace Lily has produced a white flower and it hasn't done that in years! Hope you get your dead heading sorted. Have a lot of that to do as well. @Purplerain You seem to be enjoying your little trips. Don't mention Buddleia to me. That's another story so won't bore you yet. @Valley Gardener Hope you and OH aren't too exhausted after your hard work. Maybe today is one to sit out and admire.
Good morning all, Nothing planned in the garden today, but may go and bimble round the GC while OH has a bucket of balls up at the nearby driving range. I can see what's around for suitable pots and plants,I don't want to jump in too soon and make a mistake. Also price up some trellis,it won't need much as the wall is quite narrow. Very warm and sunny here, long may it last! I think we are acclimatised as neither of us are feeling the heat, the nights in Spain were horrendous, forced to sleep in air con,but now we don't even own a fan!
I agree with @Fran IOM@nultyphilip224 for goodness sake don't knock yourself out trying to respond to everyone, maybe just pick out what interests you, like Fran....I don't know how you do it,especially so late at night. I love the musk mallow, for some reason it reminds me of weddings?? And also the wonderful contrast of ferns and Heuchera, have to remember that combo for next year! Foxy Molly looks very contemplative! And so lovely to see BB back again.
Have a good day @AnniD and Purplerain........watch that road Fran!! Hasta luego
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.
Little B turned up this morning with some friends,..more Young Blackbirds around her age one Female and one Male,..i could see the latter was much darker and even had its jet black tail,..i didn't open the door to capture an image as this would scare off the newcomers,..another time perhaps.
Yes those Tigridia pavonia look exactly like the foliage on Crocosmia,..or Day Lily,..i really look forward to seeing the Tigridia bloom as they are side plate size and stunning blooms,..the ones below are from 2018,..they come in different colours.
Your very welcome about the posts i make at night,..thank you.
We are on a countdown now with only 37 posts remaining before this Thread closes down after only 11 weeks,..at least that is the understanding i was given,..that on reaching 1.000 posts the Thread will be closed down so a new Thread will start,..not something i can agree with at all.
Sempervivum tectorum.
Rose ( Rosa 'Laurie's Golden Oranage' ) on the wane and so a tad more yellow.
Lol you are great spotting the reminders of Foxy Molly,..the look alike in blue and the Childrens Sunglasses ''Fox loves his Sunglasses'',..amazing what we see when not in the forum that reminds us of the forum and people and pets therein.
About the taking on a new phone,..many people are unable to cope with a new modern Android type phone and its so funny when one gets used to using them you find it hard to go back and manage the older type,..the Android ones have a great Camera and most are better than an expensive Camera.
Lavatera 'Baby Barnsley'
Starting to place Heuchera plants where the Hardy Geraniums were.
Next years Foxgloves,..well some of them,..as there are more from side shoots taken off the very tall ones.
You have a lot of thinking and planning to do plant wise to fill your,.. new look,.. garden,..its really a great project though many would hate it,..those of us with well established gardens would love the start nearly from scratch experience.
I don't mind replying to everyone,..its only when there are too many posts to respond to,.. then going back and forward to see what needs answering,..however come the 1.000 posts count,.. i have the feeling i won't like that,..no point in starting a new Thread every 11 Weeks especially in the middle of Summer,..i can not see myself doing that.
Good Morning all. Looks like I am the first today for a change. Bit cloudy now but a promise of the sun coming out later. @nultyphilip224 I know it's a worry for you about having to close the thread once you reach the 1000 posts. It seems to be quite a common thing with other threads. Maybe if we start a thread on "how to close and reopen new thread" it could seem easy. The thread for Garden Gallery is now on 967 posts. We seem to have caused you a lot of problems. When replying to our posts are you able to continue as one post rather than a separate one for each of us? Personally I know very little of the ins and outs of the forum but just a few ideas. Hopefully it will be resolved for you. Love your Sempervivum Tectorum. There is so much of it. Did you start with just a small plant? Where do you put your hardy geraniums now you have replaced them with the heucheras? Spent yesterday tidying up mainly. Have three eyesore areas. One is the topsoil to be distributed elsewhere, another where all the grass cuttings and weeds etc go and the third is where "one day" I will have a summer house. Currently marked off and covered in hardcore. Try to hide it with potted plants. @Valley Gardener Decided to leave the outside plot till next week so haven't been run over yet! Safer inside the allotment. Hope @AnniD and @Purplerain have a good day and @Valley Gardener. Don't want to do an Anni and leave you out. Mind you, you got two mentions yesterday.
Good morning everyone Had a sleep in this morning, then got sidetracked by the Hedgehogs thread before popping out. @nultyphilip224, your foxgloves are way ahead of mine, they are just tiny pinpricks of green in the seed trays ! I am always optimistic though. Those heucheras look lovely up against the ferns. I presume you have a "storage area" where you keep the plants in pots as they go over , bit like one of those sliding tile games where you move them round the little board to spell words or make pictures Like that 😊 Lol @Fran IOM, l shall never hear the end of it, l will have to double check every morning now that l have mentioned everyone 😁. Don't overdo it, and watch out for the cat, l suspect that every time you turn around he will be under your feet.
Time for another cup of tea and get on with the day. Mr B has already done a low level flypast as l was in the front garden, definitely more babies in the neighbour's tree. Hope @Valley Gardener and @Purplerain have a good day. Yep, definitely mentioned everyone once only....... Laters x
Good morning everyone. Home at last as I stayed at daughters last night. It has been a busy few days but nice to be sitting here on my own. Yesterday was lovely with most of the family travelling down for the day, but the weather turned miserable. I was walking around with an umbrella in long shorts and a top in wind, rain and really low temperatures. It didn't start out like that but I should have known better. This is Scotland and typically it is a beautiful warm and sunny day today.
I have had a quick look round the garden, and see clematis, and sweet peas flowering at last. I am not going to do anything today though, except catch up on this weeks GW.
Why don't we just keep going with this thread and see what happens? I have looked back on the posts and enjoyed reading everything but need to get caught up properly.
Hi everyone, I'm a bit late as I had to go to town early and look for a Christening gift for our great grandson, walked my feet off looking for a St Christopher, but ended up with a nice crucifix (Man size) which i hope he will wear when he's older. Apparently St Christopher isn't as popular! I saw some nice burgundy Cordylines, 2 for £5, on the market, but OH had dropped me off,so I couldn't do two on my own. Hope you're all having a good Saturday, catch up soon.

Will now make the effort to get on with it without the aid of a second cup of tea 🤞. Wishing @Valley Gardener @Purplerain and @Valley Gardener a good Friday .
