Oh yes Papi Jo ... she was interviewed on Radio 4’s Today Programmes by an inscrutable John Humphrys.

Millions of euros have been pledged to fund the rebuild.   Given the lack of suitable mature tall oaks to provide the beams they are going to have to be inventive and that will mean arguing pros and cons, in committees no doubt.  Loads of fun to come.

However, an excellent opportunity for craftsmen to perfect their skills and train new people.
Can you imagine French politicians listening to other people's views?  It will make the Commons look like a tea party.  Get the EU involved in formulating the plan, cunning or not, and it'll be 900 years before the work starts again.

I've never been to Notre-Dame so I can't comment on this but this afternoon on BBC radio 4 it was said that much of the cathedrals stonework consisted of 20th century repair work, there's a question whether it should be rebuilt to the original medieval, the 20th century or a new modern design. One thing that has to be said though is how quickly the fire was extinguished, I'm sure that when other such fires have occurred it has taken days to put the fires out.

I think it was due the roof being timber, but the remainder was mostly masonry. Once the timber had done, it couldn't spread? I'm guessing.

Having lived in Paris for two years when I was a teenager I wish them well. I won't live to see the restoration but my grandchildren and great grandchildren will and that is important.

Macron claims it will be rebuilt in 5 years.  Typical comment from a politician who doesn't have a clue.  Architectural experts have put 10 years on as the shortest likely timescale.
