Notre-Dame means so much to so many but much worse happened in Sri Lanka at Easter as well.

Very true.  Notre-Dame is 'only' a building.  That can be rebuilt, lives snuffed out can't.

How many billionaires came forward to help those made homeless or bereaved after Grenfell Tower?

That question is being asked a lot in certain quarters and the Gilets Jaunes people have made similar comments about no millionaires or big business coming forward to help the rural poor and the deprived which is what their protest is about.   I just wish they hadn't been rude, abusive, violent and drunk when protesting and closing road and standing there burning tyres and wood pallets to keep warm in winter.  Not environmentally friendly and some are still at it with the burning.

Much to admire in the peaceful climate change protests going on in London and elsewhere.
