    @B3 What is the name of your second rose. It is similar in type to the one I have no name for but your colour is a lovely pink. Thank you.

    Oh and thank you @Marlorena for your comment on William Lobb. You gave me advice on pruning him some when last Autumn, I think.

    Love that @B3, simple but beautiful.

    Some interesting and unusual (to me) roses @Fritillary, your ‘Napoleon has amazing buds!

    @edhelka, thanks, the long canes of Golden Celebration are pretty flexible... by pegging, do you mean just bending over to near horizontal? If you mean to the ground, it’s in a corner of an open bed with other stuff around (the other corner out of shot is a seating area) so nowhere to peg it too really. Maybe a trellis behind to train it against? I do find some Austins want to climb here, while others are happy to be retain a shrubby shape...bit of a lottery as to who wants to do what!

    @Nollie Some people bend it to the ground and tie it to the base of the plant but that may be too much bending. Some people bend it less and tie to a stick or some support near the ground or not too high.
    I would one day love to try doing a sort of large spider shape and growing perennials through that but I don't have enough space for something like that.

    Ah, thanks for the explanation, edhelka. I like the idea of a rose spider! Not enough room for me to do that. It’s possible GC will settle down, its only yr 2. I will see what it does next year and review...

    @Fritillary. I'm sorry I haven't a clue. I don't remember where I got
     it and I doubt it had a name on the label.

    B3's rose is 'Bonica'... one of the world's great roses....  continuous blooming and no health issues... it just flops a bit at first until it's built itself up..

    Nice 'Lady Gardener' rose too... I used to have it but it got ruined by sawflies, so I removed it... lovely colour to the blooms though...

    @Nollie. RG is my favourite rose. Beautiful grey foliage and dark red stems. If I was a flower arranger, i would use it all the time. I hate throwing away the prunings! It has clusters of shiny red/ brown hips too and it self-seeds . What's not to love??
