Hi @raisingirl ... hope next week is better

Hi @punkdoc ... I see you're about this morning.  What's the weather like up your way?  I was hoping for a little garden activity today, but we started with thick fog and now we have heavy rain ... I shall have more time to spend on the fish pie I'm making for supper.  OH will be setting off to work in a few minutes so it'll be me and R4 today ...

    Hi all.
Not been around for a while, needed to go back into hospital, heart not doing quite what it should.
    Now back home and resting.

Hello everyone.  We've been out to the plant fair at Angles this morning and tomato man was on form tho didn't have some of the varieties I liked from last year.  I bought fewer varieties this time and only 2 of each and they're now in the PT keeping cosy till I get back from Toulouse, by which time they'll need potting on.  The under gardener tells me folk round here don't plant them outside till the May Day holiday - but that's golfers' lore.   I have cloches if I want to get them out earlier tho I shall do one of each inside and one outside.

Sorry to see you've been unwell again Pdoc?  Hope things improve soon.  So much better to be home so do behave yourself please.

Allymountain - welcome.  Gardening is great for all sorts of mental conditions so keep at it.  Good luck with the studies.

Hope you have a better week RG.   You too Pat.

Gorgeous daffs Wonky.   Hosta - I take it you're driving all day.  I hope the 12 hours include pit stops and rest stops.

Off to potter.  Almost ready for the new bed to be delivered next week, the day after I get back from Toulouse.......

Just been out for a wander round Wisley......they are making so many changes there at the moment.  The new entrance and shop looks to be only a few weeks away from opening.  Alpine meadow looking stunning and some really lovely blossom.  And an alpine house full of treasures

Sticky labels there too 😜. Came home with a white pulsatilla, a deep red saxifrage and a purple creeping phlox.  Time for a cuppa, then I’m going to get them in the ground

I may have had a brainwave 💡  ... I’ve been struggling to give the Shady Bank some sort of unity and also to find something for the back of the bed against the fence below the Clem. alpinas. Maybe a row of Sarcococca confusa would do the job?  I’ve got one in the front garden that I could take some cuttings from ... is this a stroke of genius 🙃 ... or shall I go back to the drawing board ...?
