Well, still no rain really . The odd spot (literally) and last night there was very fine drizzle. But not enough for my empty water butt to yield anything this morning. And now no rain forecast for the rest of the week. Ho hum. I resorted to topping up the pond with a hose yesterday - so many birds come and have a good splash that it had gone down quite a lot. Wasteful critters
No local elections here, but I would always vote. I think it's important for all the reasons stated.
The cycling course was great this morning, if very windy, and I cycled almost all of the journey home on the road. Need to go out several more times this week I think, before I lose my nerve again.

That's frustrating BL. Any DIY's open tomorrow or can it wait a day or two?
I made a Coconut Chai cake for this afternoons book and plant swap. Enjoyed by all - French and Brits - and recipe passed on. Someone else made a rather good orange cake with a chocolate topping.
We have just started eating the Xmas Creole cake - good energy after a day outside.

Hope they enjoyed themselves @chicky 😊 At last rain is hammering on the west facing bedroom windows ... the butts should be filling up 😊
Im snuggling down with z book until it’s time for Brain of Britain ... it’s one of our favourite programmes ... however we record it as we often fall asleep while listening to it in bed on Saturday evenings 🛌 😴 Sweet Dreams all 🐑 🐑 🐑
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Been to the Harrogate flower show today, to meet up with a college friend, in atrocious weather... at one point I had to stand in the tool stall for 20 minutes while the rain came down in sheets, entertained by one of the young lads working on the stall. He was running between the 6 buckets they had placed under the "drip zone" where the supports went through their canopy, emptying each in turn onto the tarmac in front. When it eased enough for me to leave, stall holders were desperately trying to sweep water out from round their feet. Hopefully tomorrow will be better for them! But it was worth the trip - there were some lovely plants, though I managed to restrain myself and buy very little - and there were a couple of interesting little show gardens. Plus I bought new gardening gloves, and some very pretty earrings for my daughter's birthday.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Hello all.
This morning we went to the local farmers market then a church fete and coffee morning. Good fruit cake.
This afternoon I spent 5 hours painting the kitchen, needs a second coat. I won't have enough paint, bother.
Monty did say, not that long ago, that he has help in the garden.
Well, still no rain really
